I Am Baker

Gaven Baldry

Chad has known Brett for about 10 years now.  He met him through work and they have been friends ever since…. enjoying quality time hunting, fishing, and shooting the breeze.

Brett and his wife Stacey were delighted when they found out they were pregnant about 10 months ago.  It was a difficult pregnancy, with many trials and heartaches.  They received diagnosis that didn't offer up much hope, mostly involving their child's heart and organs.

Through it all, the love for their son grew and grew, and they knew that their child, their precious child of God, was going to bring something so special to this world.

And they were so right.

This beautiful baby boy is named Gaven Baldry.  He was born April 14th at 2:00 pm and weighs 7 lbs. 7 oz.

Gaven has a heart defect and Tretalogy of fellot.

On Thursday, April 16th, Gavens tiny heart created a huge hole in ours…

…as he left this earth to be with Jesus in Heaven.

Brett and Stacey had one precious day with their miraculous child.  They got to hold him and comfort him and sooth him and love him and hug & kiss him and keep him warm…

…and they were able to feel as the last breath left his humble, tired little body.

As you can imagine, this family needs prayers.  Please take a moment a pray for these heartbroken parents, who just want their baby back.

And if you feel so inclined, please visit their carebridge page and let them know you are praying.

This is so sad, I cried my eyes out reading his story. I will pray for this family and remember to be so thankful for my healthy family.

Hearing about things like this always makes me feel almost guilty for having perfectly healthy children. But this sad story also makes me vow to always appreciate God’s gift to me. Thanks for sharing.

Praying for Brett, Stacey and you. I will pray you will have the discernment to know how to comfort and help them through this time. That you will know when to speak and when to be silent. That you will be able to bring times of joy. Praying your heart will heal.
While I was pregnant with Hope, I knew three women who lost their unborn children late in pregnancy (two had due dates days apart from mine). One of them was an acquaintance, one a friend from church, one was my sister. My heart aches for this precious family and for your family. God will use this hurt for great good. Stand on that promise in the coming days. Claim it as your own. From the time I have ‘known’ you, I have sensed your desire to serve the Lord. He will be faithful to use you through this time too. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
