I am currently doing the Bible study of James by Beth Moore.
Its wonderful and insightful and life changing.
James happens to be one of my favorite books in the Bible, and I love that it speaks specifically to the believer.
Today I am working on James 1: 19-20
This you know, my beloved brethren. But everyone must be quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to anger; for the anger of man does not achiever the righteousness of God.
This is a goal of mine, to be a better listener and to not leap into anger at the first site of injustice.
Further on in the study Beth talks more about James in the Word of God. She says,
“The Word of God, however, is meant to do more than penetrate. Its meant to activate.”
I cant help but think, am I actively trying to listen better? To hold my tongue? To choose not to be angry?
Today, I strive to be an active listener.
If you see me at the grocery store, feel free to take full advantage!
