And Baby Makes Six!

filed under: Miscellaneous on March 29, 2011

Hi all!  I am writing this from my hospital room.

Little Eddie made his appearance into the world at 8:01 am yesterday, March 28th.  He was 8 pounds and 2 ounces at birth, and last time he was weighed is at 7 pounds 12 ounces and 19 inches.

My Dr. and his staff were absolutely amazing and wonderful and kind and funny and it was by far the easiest C-Sec I have ever had.  (he also delivered Colton and Parker)

Eddie

Sorry the picture is awful… I cant access my pictures until I get home.  This was from hubby’s phone I think!

This sweet child has a full head of RED hair!! and is just a dream already.  Last night he slept from 11:00pm to 5:00am when the nurse came and woke him up (to run tests) and is so sweet.  I love the sweet little coo’s and sighs he makes!  And dont even get me started on that new baby smell… I just sit and hold him and breath in the heavenly scent!

I am nursing exclusively, and he latched on the very first time he tried!  Such a champ.  He has been with me since he was born, except for a bath and some other tests.

The kids have met him twice now, and just adore him.  We all do really!  I have some hilarious video of Audrey holding him from my FLip Camera, but it will be a miracle if that makes it to my blog as I am wretched at figuring out how to do that!  We are thinking that tomorrow (Wed.) we can both go home.

As far as me, I am doing well!  Pain has been minimal… I even held out on taking anything for the first 22 hours… my nurse thought I was nuts!

(TMI to follow, dont read if you are squeamish!)

We did find out that my uterus was very thin at the incision site.  This basically means that if I had gone into active labor the chances of it rupturing and me bleeding out were very, very high.  (risking death for me and baby) Sorta scary!

I asked if that meant there would be any complications with future pregnancy’s and he sorta nodded his head yes.  If we were blessed enough to be pregnant again I would have to probably have the C-sec very early to avoid all contractions.  But he did say it would be do-able and we would just be pro-active and make healthy choices.

I am relived to know that the option of us having more kids is not completely off the table, but am also feeling so blessed with the family that we have.

I promise I will be adding some pics of sweet baby Eddie soon… he really is just adorable (I know, I am biased!) and I would love to share him with you!

Thank you SO much for all the kind words and well wishes and prayers.  It has meant the world to me!
