My computer is dead.  It had a massive stroke and keeled over and died.

As far as I know right now, I have lost everything.  No more trusty favorites list to get me where I need to go.  No more Word documents that I have been working on and changing and adding too and fine tuning fir two years.  No more pictures.  No more picture editing programs.

I'm a little heart broken, which is stupid because its just a computer.

But not stupid because I have put a lot of time and energy into my pictures and writing and blog.

But stupid cause no one I love is hurt.

But not stupid cause I have taken about 20,000 + pictures of loved ones that are now gone.

But stupid cause THEY are still here and life goes on.

I don't know.

I packed up the kids and drove to my mommies house.

I have been in Fargo for the last 4 days and while I have many wonderful pictures and memories to share, it will have to happen as soon as I figure out how the heck to get pictures on my blog now.  I don't even know how to get them off my camera at the moment.

Some things that I have been feeling sorry for myself about:

That I am not internationally known like Mckmama and didn't recently have my flights rerouted saving precious time and stress levels by an all powerful air traffic controller otherwise known as a fan #147,653.

That I had to miss The Real Housewives of New York City and have no idea what happened between Bethenny and Kelly because my parents don't have Bravo.

That I have lost my photo programs and have no idea where the original program disk is so cannot re-load them.

Somethings that God might have said to me recently:

You are not as popular as Mckmama because you are not as good at multi-tasking as her and she is able to maintain her blog NOT at the expense of her children.  Would you be the same way if you had 200,000 hits a day?

While you could have been watching smutty TV you were instead reading and praying with your children.  And that is time you will never regret.

Although you had to lose something important to you, I know you will gain so much more…

Speaking of silver linings… I am getting photoshop!!!  And not only that, my mom got it for me for $256.00.  She is brilliant.

She has connections.  Me, not so much.

Moral of the story?

Trust God.

And your mother.

HOPEFULLY, pictures will be back soon.

Just a little update for you about the Awesome Blog 2009 Award.

I have been trying to inform every nominee about their nomination.  Since the winners are actually going to be voted on by you(May 11th, Make sure you vote!), I figured that people might want to add a tidbit on their blog or do something to let their regular readers know.

I sent off an email to one of the nominees… and got back a wonderful little note telling me thank you and that she was honored and that she would check it all out.

And that nominee was….

The Pioneer Woman herself.

So just so all you nominees know, you are in very good company.

Share with your friends!

  1. Our laptop was fried in a thunderstorm last year, but a friend who knows computers was able to retrieve everything for us. Check around to see if anyone can get your info off of the hard drive (or where ever the computer tries to hide it?!?)

  2. Oh Wow, for some crazy reason I am excited that it’s the blog that I nominated that got back to you & said thanks (Pioneer Woman)!!
And you know, that’s why I don’t always comment, I go to your blog & do a quick scan, or more if I have time, but I am NOT the mom that could delve deep into the blogging world without sacrificing her children. That’s why I am frequently absent for long periods of time. I Seeer-I-OusLY Do NOT know how MckMama does it, but my relationship with my kids and hubby would suffer. For example, right now my 2-year old keeps begging me to eat and saying “my hungy!!” and I keep ignoring her, just so I can type this and make my point about how I would be a horrible mom if I blogged too much. Are you getting all that?
I’m so sorry about your computer and losing all your stuff, that royally, royally stinks.
