Its Positive!

filed under: Miscellaneous on April 19, 2008

We are pregnant!  I have taken three tests now, and all of them have come up positive. (the top test is from a week ago, hence, slight discoloration)

We are absolutely thrilled.  I am convinced its a boy and Chad thinks its a girl, but I am 99% positive we will be finding out the sex, so we will know who’s right in about 4 months.

I am only about 6 weeks along, so if you think about it, please keep  us in your prayers that we may have a ‘to term’ pregnancy.  I am confident in the Lords plan and totally thrilled he has given us this miracle!

I have an appointment with a nutritionist on May 2nd to start an all natural diet.  Actually, I think my whole family is going to be doing that.  The boys already get great supplements and good foods, but Chad and I still enjoy a good Mystery Roll and the occasional Dump CakeAnd that just will not do!

And I am already on a pre-natal vitamin (have been for 4 years) and am taking fish oil supplements.  And with Spring approaching, I may even get bunches of exercise! And hopefully get to meet up with Linnea and MOPS gals and Janis for some great playdates as well!

We had lunch with my folks today and gave them the big news.  My mom said, "I knew it!" lol  I think all moms say that right? ๐Ÿ˜‰

My dad and Parker having a good laugh.

The first thing I thought when I saw this picture was,

"That is what love looks like."

The kids were so sad to see Grandma and Grandpa go.

We got home, and about half hour later Chad’s folks arrived.  Parker and Colton both got (much needed!) haircuts.  We told them we were preggers and they seemed happy for us!  It was good to be able to finally share the news with our loved ones.

Colton leaping into his fathers arms.  Kids get to have so much fun.  I can’t even remember the last time I did that.

And you know little boys love to wear their daddies (and in this case grandpas) hats.

Kinda grainy, I know.  This one will not be going in the scrapbook (and technically, none of them will because I don’t have a scrapbook) but I thought it was cute enough to share with you.

It has been a BUSY day with lots of news and lots of hugs and kisses (mostly for the kids) and lots of smiling and laughing and cooking and eating.  A well spent day if I don’t say so myself.  Which I do.  So I guess that I DO say so myself.  OK.  Just nod and smile.  Nod and smile.

Blessings to you and yours-

Amanda

Congratulations Amanda!!! I can’t wait to find out who’s right on the baby’s sex!!! I don’t know if you have ever heard of Juice Plus, but if you’re going all natural (and great for those who aren’t too!) it’s a great added bonus. Ultimately it’s a wonderful pill (for adults and they make gummies and chewables for kids) one is veggies…it’s simply veggies in a powder form which is put into a capsule…nothing is added just 17 different veggies, and it’s the same with the fruits 17 different fruits! How many of us actually eat 17 different fruits and 17 different veggies a day? All those different ones offer different benefits. Anyways we’ve been taking Juice Plus for a little over a year now and I’m so thankful. We don’t always eat the best but I know our body is getting the benefits of all that God made for us, and I’m not a fan of vitamins since so much evidence has shown that so often you’re overdosing on things that your body simply does not need, is getting too much of certain things, and it comes out in your urine so quickly.
Let me know if you’re interested and I can put you in contact with my friend Aimee (she lives here with me, but she’s loaded with all kinds of info and is VERY passionate and far more educated on it!). I did not take any extra prenatals, other than Juice Plus (other than the 1st trimester and that’s because I didn’t know that the info on juice plus is showing it can also take the place of prenatals..I just doubled my dosage during my pregnancy! Anyways….congrats and wtg on making a natural choice for your family. One of my goals while Chad is gone is to become 75-80% natural foods.
Congrats again, I’m thrilled for you!

Oh Amanda!! What wonderful news!! I am so happy for you guys!! What a beautiful blessing for you and your family.
Prenatals are a necessity, and I’m excited to hear you are taking fish oil. I took those with both pregnancies, and Gio swears by them. Both Michael and Mia take a spoonful of fish oil every night with their supper! They are so very good for you.
I am just thrilled to hear your happy news!! I look forward to hearing all about your pregnancy, and of course, hearing what the sex is when you find out. A true blessing from the Lord!!
Congrats….now go get lots of rest!! Molly

Congrats to you, Amanda, and your family on this new baby to grace your home!!How exciting!! looking forward to hearing all the good news as your pregnancy progresses; my dear friend in Montana wanted to know the sex of her first baby (boy); the second one she wanted to be surprised but he was so obviously a boy that the technician accidentally spilled the beans during her ultrasound and on her third done, again, she wanted it to be a surprise but again he made his presence known; when my mom was pregnant with all of us kids, they didn’t have the “fancy” things they have now with figuring out the sex before birth; always a surprise there
whether you have a boy or a girl, the Lord knows and the Lord willed it even before the beginning of time
great pictures of the kids and your family!!

Yeah, whew I was just keeping all this good news inside… such a relief to know the family knows and now I can say out in public, “Yipee!”. Just kidding since I’ve only been “bottling up the blessing” since Thurs. ๐Ÿ™‚ Congratulations again Amanda!
Regarding the leaping through the air; considering you are growing your miracle I’m thinking you may have to wait a little longer to leap into Chad’s arms. I’m just saying. So excited for you, I’ll keep praying.
