Sharing Faith the Duck Dynasty Way

I am a new convert to Duck Dynasty.

Duck Dynasty

I really like the show… its funny, its interesting, and all the people on it seem real. Like, really real.

But my favorite thing about it is the story behind the people.

They love the Lord and they testify His name.

They go on national television is proclaim the way of Jesus of Galilee.  They share the true message of the Gospel.

And I cant help but think its totally awesome.

Have you seen Duck Dynasty?  What do you think of the unabashed proclamation of God’s holy word?

(check out some funny Duck Dynasty quotes here!  They are also on facebook in case you want to follow along)

Our family loves Ducky Dynasty, we never miss an episode. I love that they praise God on national television and you can tell it is their way of life.

I love that you watch it as a family!! 🙂

Amanda, I love that about the show and they are clean and funny. I like them and DVR to watch. They are funny, outdoorsy (which I like since I have two boys so I need to keep up with all that), and love when they pray at the table at the end and are thankful. I grew up in a Penacostal church, then a full gospel church, and my husband grew up in Fundamental Baptist church. Right now we go to a non-denominational church and the school the children go to was started by a Pastor from a Presbyterian church. 🙂 If a show is rude or talks with bad language or character, I won’t watch it. I do however not let the boys see some of the episdoes where Miss Kay talks about boyfriend, girlfriend, sex talk (when her grandaughter was dating that boy “Luke”(?). It was the bowling episode and she was talking to the friends about that stuff on the show. Then sometimes Miss Kay can be “fresh” with her hubby and so it’s OK for me to see but not for my little ones. I also don’t like the commercials on that channel so I’m glad I can still DVR (while we have that service).

    Great points!!

I’m not a fan. One of these “Ducks” is the homophobe, right? That is not my brand of Christianity….not much tolerance or love there!

      Amanda

Hi Dani! What exactly is your “brand” of Christianity? By definition it means, “the teachings of Jesus Christ”. Just wondering what your definition is? (For the record, Jesus was not a homophobe, nor did He profess that we should make any one sin worse than the next)

        dani

exactly….I agree totally with your comment. All I said was I have no time for this inane show with the homophobic guy spewing intolerance, that’s all.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this show! I love how silly they are and how they get on each other’s nerves but then at the end of the day, it’s all about family and praising God. Isn’t that the truth?! I think so!

Tiffany

I don’t have cable and I have yet to see an episode, but I have heard a lot about them, and I have complete respect for their willingness to share without fear. Sometimes it seems like as Christians we are in the minority as we are so PC concerned these days, but it is good to be reminded that there are those who are unafraid to share their love for God… and how awesome is it that they have more viewers than American Idol?! See, we Americans who love Jesus are not alone… there are PLENTY of us out there.

    Hi Tiffany,

If you are interested in seeing the show a great way to see it is to borrow it from the library on DVD.

    Have a beautiful evening!

We also love the DD boys and girls. The fact that they pray at the end is awesome.

Love Duck Dynasty!!

YES!! We are huge fans of DD here! I also love and respect them that much more for their bold faith. I’ve watched lots of behind the scenes of them. Recently, I saw one where Phil was speaking up about some of their earlier episodes where the show producers would bleep out certain places to make it look like they were saying offensive curse words, and Phil claimed that they never talk like that, so why do they make it look like that on the show? After they approached the producers about it, the weird/unnecessary bleeps stopped altogether. Something so simple…but just REAL with who they are, know what I mean? I love them all. Reminds me a lot of my extended family!

We are big fans of the show too 🙂 Love the talks with the teenagers from Phil and Kay. Not to crazy about it when they make squirrel stew but love the rest.

My family LOVES this show. It’s pretty hilarious when my dad and my husband and our oldest daughter are watching together. Happy, happy, happy!!

Ashley @ Power, Love, and Self-Discipline

I love the way this family is using the show to share their faith. Reality shows have a bad name and this is one that is using the platform for Good.

Natalie

Are you still fans now…?!

Sa

They are blessing in these VERY troubling times.

I was a late follower of Duck Dynasty and am so disappointed that the show is no longer in production. I boycotted the show for the first couple of years, simply because I didn’t care for those beards, AND I had no idea that the show was based on Christianity. Now I feel like I cheated myself by skipping those first couple of years. 🙁
