I’m thankful for my healthy family and friends. So many I know are dealing with illness and I’m just happy we’re all together and healthy.

In 2016 I am most thankful for my mother. Not for any little thing she has done particularly but because a friend of mine lost her father a few weeks ago and it made me start adding up all the little things I would lose should my mum leave us. The fact that I am at an age now where my friends are losing parents is horrifying for me, so for this year above any other I am grateful to be able to celebrate another holiday season with her. Also thankful for my new niece or nephew due on valentines day, my sister thought she couldnt have children after trying for a few years and has been blessed with her second little munchkin without additional help needed. Couldnt be more thankful for the fullness of my family.

I am thankful for my life with my God, my family and friends and good food – especially cake. Thanks for great recipes!
