Rolls
- 6 tablespoons (85 g) unsalted butter
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon parmesan cheese, grated
- ½ teaspoon Italian seasoning
- ¼ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
- 1 package (16 ounces) frozen dinner roll dough, thawed
Dip
- 1 block (8 ounces) cream cheese, room temperature
- 1 cup (113 g) mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ cup (128.5 g) pizza sauce
Topping
- ¼ cup (64 g) pizza sauce
- ¼ cup (34.5 g) pepperoni, diced
- ¼ cup (28 g) mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 2 tablespoons fresh basil, finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons parmesan cheese, shredded
- 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
Rolls
In a small bowl, whisk together the butter, garlic powder, parmesan, Italian seasoning, and crushed red pepper flakes.
Cut each dinner roll in half. Roll each half into a ball.
Place the dough balls along the outer edge of a 13-inch cast-iron skillet, leaving the center open. Brush the tops of the rolls with the melted butter mixture. Reserve any remaining butter mixture.
Cover the skillet with plastic wrap. Allow the bread to rise in a warm place for 30 minutes, or until almost doubled. While the bread is rising, prepare the dip mixture.
Dip
Preheat the oven to 400°F.
Combine cream cheese, mozzarella, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and pizza sauce. Transfer the mixture into the center of skillet.
Topping
Top with the remaining pizza sauce, mozzarella, and pepperoni. Brush the rolls with the remaining butter mixture.
Cover with foil and bake 15 minutes. Remove the foil and bake another 10-12 minutes, or until dip is heated through and the rolls are golden brown.
Garnish with basil, parmesan cheese, and crushed red pepper.
