Ingredients

Rolls

  • 6 tablespoons (85 g) unsalted butter
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon parmesan cheese, grated
  • ½ teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • ¼ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1 package (16 ounces) frozen dinner roll dough, thawed

Dip

  • 1 block (8 ounces) cream cheese, room temperature
  • 1 cup (113 g) mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ cup (128.5 g) pizza sauce

Topping

  • ¼ cup (64 g) pizza sauce
  • ¼ cup (34.5 g) pepperoni, diced
  • ¼ cup (28 g) mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 2 tablespoons fresh basil, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons parmesan cheese, shredded
  • 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes

Instructions

Rolls

  • In a small bowl, whisk together the butter, garlic powder, parmesan, Italian seasoning, and crushed red pepper flakes.
  • Cut each dinner roll in half. Roll each half into a ball.
  • Place the dough balls along the outer edge of a 13-inch cast-iron skillet, leaving the center open. Brush the tops of the rolls with the melted butter mixture. Reserve any remaining butter mixture.
  • Cover the skillet with plastic wrap. Allow the bread to rise in a warm place for 30 minutes, or until almost doubled. While the bread is rising, prepare the dip mixture.

Dip

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F.
  • Combine cream cheese, mozzarella, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and pizza sauce. Transfer the mixture into the center of skillet.

Topping

  • Top with the remaining pizza sauce, mozzarella, and pepperoni. Brush the rolls with the remaining butter mixture.
  • Cover with foil and bake 15 minutes. Remove the foil and bake another 10-12 minutes, or until dip is heated through and the rolls are golden brown.
  • Garnish with basil, parmesan cheese, and crushed red pepper.
