Ingredients

Pancakes

  • 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons canola oil
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract

Red Velvet Pancakes

  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/8 teaspoon red gel food coloring
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 3/4 cup buttermilk
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Instructions

Pancakes

  1. Combine all dry ingredients (that includes sugar) in a large bowl. In a separate bowl, combine egg, milk, oil, and vanilla. 

  2. Pour into dry ingredients and mix until just combined.

  3. Pour about 1/3 cup onto griddle set to medium-high heat and lightly brown on both sides. (about 2-3 minutes per side)

Red Velvet Pancakes

  1. Combine all dry ingredients (flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, sugar, cocoa powder) in a large bowl and set aside. 
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together egg, buttermilk, sour cream, food coloring, and vanilla. 

  3. Add wet ingredients to dry, and mix until just combined.

  4. Pour about 1/3 cup onto griddle set to medium-high heat and lightly brown on both sides. (about 2-3 minutes per side)
