Ingredients

  • 4 cups (576 g) fresh blackberries
  • ¼ cup (31 g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Topping

  • 1 cup (90 g) old-fashioned oats
  • 1 cup (200 g) light brown sugar, packed
  • ½ cup (62.5 g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ cup (1 stick / 113 g) unsalted butter, room temperature

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray an 8x8-inch baking dish with non-stick cooking spray.
  • In a large bowl, combine the blackberries, flour, and vanilla. Pour into the prepared baking dish. Set aside.
  • To a medium bowl, add oats, brown sugar, flour, and cinnamon. Stir to combine. Using a fork, add pieces of the butter, combining until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs with pea-sized pieces of butter.
  • Evenly spread the topping over the blackberry mixture.
  • Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until berries are bubbly and topping is golden brown.
  • Serve warm or cold.
