Maple Ermine Frosting
Maple Ermine Frosting is light, fluffy, and full of sweet maple flavor! Made with pure maple syrup and maple extract, this smooth frosting is delicious on cakes, cupcakes, cookies, and more. It is a fun maple version of my classic Ermine Frosting!

In a medium saucepan over medium heat, whisk together the milk, maple syrup, and flour. Cook, whisking constantly, for 3 to 5 minutes, or until the mixture is smooth and thick enough to coat the back of a spoon. It should have the consistency of a very thick pudding.
Remove the pan from the heat and let the mixture cool completely to room temperature.
In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, beat the butter and sugar on medium-high speed for 2 to 3 minutes, or until light and fluffy.
Add the cooled milk mixture, vanilla extract, and maple extract. Beat on medium-high speed until the frosting is smooth and creamy.
