Banana Chocolate Chip Bars

Banana Chocolate Chip Bars are my ooey gooey banana bars (which you will also want to try) with added chocolate chips for a dessert bar that you will love! And, the recipe is as easy to make as the bars are scrumptious!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup (2 sticks / 227 g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cups (400 g) brown sugar, lightly packed
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 2 cups (250 g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 2 ripe bananas, mashed, some chunks are okay (about ⅔ cup)
  • 1 ½ cups (262 g) semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a 9×13-inch baking dish with parchment paper, then spray with nonstick cooking spray. Set aside.
  • Using a hand mixer, combine the butter and brown sugar in a large bowl.
  • On low speed, add the vanilla and mix until incorporated.
  • Add the eggs, mixing on low until incorporated.
  • Add the flour and the salt, mixing well.
  • Fold in the mashed bananas and chocolate chips.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the center is set.
  • Once baked, let the bars cool for about 15 minutes before cutting and serving.
