- 1 cup (148 g) blueberries
- ¾ cup (150 g) granulated sugar
- 4 cups cold water, divided
- 4-5 large lemons, freshly squeezed (about 1 cup juice)
- crushed ice
- lemon slices, for garnish
- blueberries, for garnish
In a small saucepan, combine blueberries, sugar, and 1 cup of water. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring frequently until the sugar dissolves and the blueberries start to burst, about 5-7 minutes.
Mash the blueberries to release more flavor.
Place a fine mesh sieve over a medium bowl and carefully pour the blueberry mixture through it. Using the back of a spoon, press down on the solids in the sieve to extract as much liquid as possible. Set in the refrigerator to cool slightly. Dispose of the solids once strained.
In a large pitcher, combine the lemon juice, blueberry syrup, and the remaining 3 cups of water. Stir to combine.
Fill a tall glass with crushed ice, pour the lemonade over the ice, and garnish with lemon slices and blueberries.
