- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 3 ounces orange juice, freshly squeezed, divided (from 2 medium oranges)
- 3 ounces pomegranate juice
- 3 ounces silver tequila
- 1 ounce triple sec
- 1 ounce lime juice, freshly squeezed (from about 1 medium lime)
- Crushed ice
- Orange slices and pomegranate seeds, for garnish (optional)
Set out two small plates. On one plate, spread out the granulated sugar.
On the second small plate, pour 1 ounce of the fresh orange juice.
Dip the rims of two cocktail glasses into the orange juice, then into the sugar to coat. Set the glasses aside.
Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice. Add the remaining orange juice, pomegranate juice, tequila, triple sec, and lime juice. Secure the lid and shake vigorously for 15–20 seconds until well chilled.
Fill the prepared glasses with crushed ice. Strain the orange mixture evenly into both glasses.
Garnish with orange slices and pomegranate seeds, if desired, and serve immediately.
