I was trying to be a tease.

The whole point of these cookies is to tease.

I wanted to make you guess what the sex of the baby is… but then I was so impatient and just could not keep a secret that I posted it on my mommy blog.

So please, dont go over there and find out the answer.  It would ruin all the fun!

But not really.

In honor of our soon to be addition (I am 28 weeks now!) I wanted to give YOU a new addition.

No, not my baby.

Yes, some of my cookies!

You are so smart.

More on that in a sec.

I made some cupcakes too!

I love those little fingers gripping the edge of our little cupcake.

Reminds me of some cute sneaky kids I know. Certainly not my own! *cough*

These cookies/cupcakes could not have been easier to make!  My only MUST DO tip is: Use a REALLY thick icing consistency on the little fingers.

Otherwise they will run together and just be blob hands.  And who wants a baby with blob hands?

Here is how to enter to win ONE DOZEN decorated sugar cookies!

Leave a comment on this post answering the question:

What do you think I am having, a boy or girl?  And if by chance, you were to guess boy for some random reason, can you please also suggest some names? Thank you.

Of course, you do not need to be right to win.

All you need is a valid email.  Also, I can only ship cookies to a US address.  Sorry!

Boy! Congratulations 🙂 If you’re feeling adventurous, I suggest Mohan. It means “charming” in Hindi.

I’m guessing a boy :), not that you gave it away or anything :D. What about Ethan or Daniel? Or Mark? Sam? Ok, I’m not so good at picking names haha.

  1. I am guessing boy as you asked for name ideas!! I just found your blog about a week ago and have spent all my free time reading back through all the posts, I LOVE your blog!! It has me so excited to try so many new things and learn to decorate cookies the way you do!!
I am currently pregnant as well (so cookies would be greatly appreciated lol). I am also expecting a little boy. I am a little further along than you are 34weeks but also have a 4 year old son. As I sit and read your blog tonight I have a box of nilla wafers and a can of frosting on my lap, not the same as your cookies but good none the less lol.
As for name suggestions, we are naming this baby boy Shane Andrew, I like commong but not too common names. Our older sons name is James Lyal, his middle name is the same as my husbands and his fathers so there wasnt as much leverage there. When I found out I was pregnant both times I had girls names no problem boys names are where it took some thinking, but dont worry they will start to flow real fast and you will have a name in no time. Hope you post what you like!!
Wishing you a happy and healthy rest of your 9 months and you have a new daily reader in me, your blog is just amazing!!

  2. I’m gonna go out on a limb and say a boy. 🙂 I hope I win your cookies. You may the best looking desserts I’ve ever seen.

  3. OMG these are just about the cutest things I’ve seen in a long time and I rarely think anything is cute. Truly fabulous!

  4. Congratulations! (I still don’t know if i can spell that word right..)
Sorry I looked at posts while scrolling down to comment.
SOO my guess is a boy? 🙂
My favorite boy names are kind of traditional, Justin, Lucas, and my lil cousin that was just born 2 months ago is Tyler.

  5. hmm…I”m going with boy 😉
I like the name Seth. or Noah. or Adden. These are all names of my cousin’s kids…but I like them 🙂

  6. “Two winners” made me think, “twins?!” But I don’t think that’s what you meant. : ) I love traditional, ol’ fashioned boy names like Charles, Edward, and Patrick. And I love your cookies. How you continue to bake so diligently while being pregnant and having a family and writing two blogs, I just do not know. Amazing.

  7. Congratulations! It’s a boy!! We have two boys and a girl and often think about if and when to add another child to our family. Somedays while chatting about it, we get to the point where we have a dead stare when one of us says, “If it’s a boy, what on Earth would we name him??” We’ve already used our two agreed upon favorite boy names “Benjamin (Ben)” and “Lucien” (pronounced “Loo-shin”). We ran across the name while watching an old special on ESPN about the famous race horse “Secretariet”. Up on the screen came a little old man who was being interviewed, he was the horses trainer back in the day and his name was “Lucien Lauren”. Best of luck!! Love your work! I’ve only tried your rainbow cake! Yes! And am about to try and tackle the chocolate cake!!
