Iโ€™ve been playing around. Here are some cookies I am contemplating using in the near futureโ€ฆ think any are keepers? And be honest!

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 c Butter I Use Unsalted
  • 2 c Sugar
  • 2 whole Eggs
  • 2 whole Eggs Yolks
  • 4 tsp. Vanilla Extract
  • 2 tsp. Almond Extract
  • 4 c All-purpose Flour
  • 1 tsp. Salt
  • 1 tsp. Baking Powder

Instructions

  • In a mixer, beat butter and sugar until well combined, about 2 minutes.
  • Add in 2 eggs and 2 egg yolks and mix until combined.
  • Add in vanilla and almond extract; mix until combined.
  • In a separate bowl, sift together flour, salt, and baking powder. Slowly (about a cup at a time) add flour to butter mixture and combine. You can use a mixer or not, just depends on how strong you are.
  • Mix ingredients until they are just combined.
  • Put dough in some Saran wrap and refrigerate for at least one hour. When you are ready to bake, heat oven to 350 degrees. Roll dough out, cut out cookies, and bake for 6-8 minutes.

  1. I like almost all of them! LOVE the red one with the white hearts going up the side, and the white one with the random dots. The only pattern I’m not *as* crazy about is the one that had the hearts with the squiggly balloon lines beneath them. From far away, and maybe it’s just me, it reminds me of sperm. It’s probably just me, and I’m sure I’ll get over it. Beautiful job, as always. Your cornelli lace work is phenomenal! I have not been able to pull that one off. Your steady hand impresses me!

  2. Wow!
I can’t remember how I found your blog, but I am very happy I did! I’ve been dating this new wonderful guy for only about 3 months and honestly I didnt know WHAT to get him for V-Day. Not a clue! Stumbling across this website has made me want to cook something of this caliber (granted it probably wont be NEARLY as professional looking) for him! I’m excited to try out some of these V-Day dessert recipes! These cookies are probably going to be it though! I love them, they’re fairly simple, and its not some store bought gift!
