I made a  cake for Mothers Day.

But it was boring.

There was nothing exciting about the outside.

There is nothing excting about the inside.

Its just a plain old cake.

Except that I made it for someone who deserves something more than ‘plain old’.

I came across this quote and thought it would be the perfect addition to this cake.

And I am pretty sure that describes my mom.

Selfless.

Considerate.

Generous.

Loving.

I made a white cake with lemon frosting.

With a rose on top. 

I am sure you could cover the entire top with roses!  But I dont want to bore you with frosting roses.

  6. I love this quote so much. It reminds me of my mom. She was forever saying things like this, or declaring that the burnt edges of whatever she’d made were her favorites. She still does that. I hope I am that unselfish with my own children someday.

  7. Love the writing….. but then, I thought the “plain” cake was ok too. A lot can be said for plain cake, especially if it is white cake with lemon icing. 🙂
