Iโ€™ve been playing around. Here are some cookies I am contemplating using in the near futureโ€ฆ think any are keepers? And be honest!

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 c Butter I Use Unsalted
  • 2 c Sugar
  • 2 whole Eggs
  • 2 whole Eggs Yolks
  • 4 tsp. Vanilla Extract
  • 2 tsp. Almond Extract
  • 4 c All-purpose Flour
  • 1 tsp. Salt
  • 1 tsp. Baking Powder

Instructions

  • In a mixer, beat butter and sugar until well combined, about 2 minutes.
  • Add in 2 eggs and 2 egg yolks and mix until combined.
  • Add in vanilla and almond extract; mix until combined.
  • In a separate bowl, sift together flour, salt, and baking powder. Slowly (about a cup at a time) add flour to butter mixture and combine. You can use a mixer or not, just depends on how strong you are.
  • Mix ingredients until they are just combined.
  • Put dough in some Saran wrap and refrigerate for at least one hour. When you are ready to bake, heat oven to 350 degrees. Roll dough out, cut out cookies, and bake for 6-8 minutes.

  1. ADORABLE!!! I love every single one. I have just found your blog and looked through it. I am totally inspired. I LOOOOVE to bake sugar cookies…problem is, I love eating them too! ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. I’m sorry to be the one dissenter. I think those are yucky. You should immediately box them up and send them all to me. I will make sure nobody knows how horrible you did on these. ๐Ÿ™‚
    Love ’em, like always!

  3. They all look great! The only ones I didn’t like are the ones with the squiggly lines with hearts on the end. They looked kinda like…well, to be honest like little sperm, which is kinda awkward on a Valentine’s day cookie. Please don’t hate me! I don’t mean any offense, it’s just what came to mind when I saw it (I guess that says a lot about what I’m thinking about these days…babies!)

  4. Wow! It takes a patient person to make cookies that beautiful. And not to mention a steady hand & some major talent. My fave is the red cookie with the white hearts along the left side.
Beee-utiful and almost too pretty to eat! :o)

  5. I’ve been making sugar cookies a lot lately and just made some valentine ones also. Mine didn’t look as good! But they were tasty! How do you get the red icing so red? Mine just gets to a point where it’s very pink.

  6. I found you linked on MckMama’s blog. I’ve come here and read through every single one of your entries (drooling, I might add) and I’ve decided I want to be you someday. Not in a stalkerish way, but in a WOAH, you are all kinds of awesome way!

  7. they are gorgeous! i love the striped ones, and the i heart you striped ones, and the dot ones, and the heart ones… yeah. i like em all pretty much. i do like the swirly ones, but i’m guessing that is pretty time consuming, no?
i need to get these updates emailed to me. i keep forgetting to check over here!
