Ingredients & Substitutions

  • Chocolate Chips: The milk chocolate chips make up the main base and top layer of the bark. I think dark chocolate would be amazing, too. Or, for a different taste, try using white chocolate chips.
  • Peanut Butter: Creamy peanut butter adds creaminess and flavor to the middle layer, making the bark rich and smooth. If you want a little extra crunch, use crunchy peanut butter. If you don’t like peanut butter, you can substitute almond butter, cashew butter, or your favorite nut butter.
  • Confectioners’ Sugar: Confectioners’ sugar (powdered sugar) sweetens the peanut butter layer and helps set it firm. Granulated sugar could work in a pinch, but the texture will be grainy. (Confectioners’ sugar works best here.)
  • Butter: The unsalted butter helps make the peanut butter layer smooth and creamy. It also helps the sugar mix in well. If you don’t have unsalted butter, you can use salted butter, but it might make the bark a little saltier.
  • Reese’s Pieces Candies: To tie in the chocolate-peanut butter theme of the bark, top it with Reese’s Pieces candies. I have to do this quickly, or I’ll end up eating all the candies (they’re one of my favorites😊)!

Can You Use Different Candies In Peanut Butter Bark?

Yes, you can use a different kind of candy! Try using M&M’s (I would use the peanut butter M&M’s), chopped nuts, or any candy you like. Just make sure it’s something that goes well with chocolate and peanut butter for the best taste!

Can You Use A Different Pan For Reese’s Pieces Peanut Butter Bark?

Sure, you can use a different-sized pan if you don’t have a 10×15-inch baking pan. Try using a 9×13-inch pan for slightly thicker bark or a larger pan for thinner bark. Just adjust the layers to fit the size, and keep an eye on the chocolate as it sets to make sure it’s even.

How To Store Reese’s Pieces Peanut Butter Bark

To store Reese’s Pieces Peanut Butter Bark, place the pieces in an airtight container. Keep the container in the refrigerator to make sure the chocolate stays firm. It will stay fresh for up to 2 weeks if it hasn’t been eaten in that time!

Can I Freeze Reese’s Pieces Peanut Butter Bark?

Yes, you can freeze the peanut butter bark! Put the bark in an airtight container or a freezer-safe bag. Keep it in the freezer for up to 3 months. This is a great way to make treats ahead of time, like for the holidays or to give as a gift! (I plan to add a few pieces to my Christmas Dessert Charcuterie Board.) Let it thaw in the refrigerator before sharing or enjoy a few pieces for yourself!

Reese’s Pieces Peanut Butter Bark

Reese’s Pieces Peanut Butter Bark is a no-bake treat with layers of milk chocolate, creamy peanut butter, and crunchy Reese’s Pieces candy. It is perfect for snacking (but be warned–you might eat it all)! or as a gift for peanut butter and chocolate lovers. Simple to make, it will be gone in no time!

Ingredients

  • 3 ½ cups (637 g) milk chocolate chips, divided
  • 1 cup (258 g) creamy peanut butter
  • 1 cup (125 g) confectioners' sugar
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup (188 g) Reese’s Pieces Candy

Instructions

  • Line a 10×15-inch baking pan with wax paper. Set aside.
  • To a medium, microwave-safe bowl, add 1 ½ cups chocolate chips. Microwave in 20-second increments, stirring after each interval, until the chocolate is melted and smooth.
  • Spread the melted chocolate evenly over the wax paper, leaving a small border around the edges. Refrigerate until set, about 10 minutes.
  • To a medium bowl, add peanut butter, confectioners' sugar, and butter. Using a hand mixer on medium speed, mix until smooth. Spread the mixture evenly over the chilled chocolate layer. Refrigerate again until set, another 5-10 minutes.
  • To a separate microwave-safe bowl, add the remaining 2 cups of chocolate chips. Microwave in 20-second increments, stirring between intervals, until melted and smooth.
  • Spread the melted chocolate evenly over the peanut butter layer. While the chocolate is still soft, sprinkle Reese’s Pieces candy evenly over the top, pressing gently to adhere.
  • Refrigerate until completely set, about 10 minutes.
  • Once firm, break into pieces and store in an airtight container.
