Skillet Apple Fritter Bread

This Skillet Apple Fritter gives you all the flavors you would expect in a fritter, but baked and not fried. It is very similar to my Apple Fritter Monkey Bread.  You can always try my Apple Fritter Bread for another delicious, baked way to enjoy an apple fritter treat.

Drizzling Apple Sauce over Bread for Skillet Apple Fritters

Ingredients & Substitutions

Apples: I prefer to use Granny Smith apples when baking because they hold their shape well. You could also try this recipe with Braeburn, pink lady apples, or Honeycrisp.

Biscuits: Look for flaky buttermilk biscuits to use.

Toppings: Although the toppings are optional, they are worth adding! Try the dessert with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream and some caramel sauce.

Can I Use a Different?

You could definitely make this treat in a 9×13-inch baking dish. The cooking time should be the same.

Can I Use a Different Fruit?

Yes, absolutely. This would be delicious with strawberries, blueberries, even banana. However, you may want to adjust the amounts and amount of cinnamon, if any.

Can I Make the Bread From Scratch?

Sure! If you don’t want to use store-bought biscuits, I recommend starting with the dough recipe in my Homemade Monkey Bread
