For a sweet and creamy drink that screams summer, you must try this Creamy Lemonade. You may have seen a similar drink made with limes called Brazilian Lemonade (yes, still called lemonade even though made with limes). The one thing that stands out in both drinks is using sweetened condensed milk. But, there are enough lemons to give the drink just a hint of tartness so it is not too sweet.
Creamy Lemonade Ingredients
With just a few ingredients, it’s easy to get this sweet and refreshing treat poured into a glass and sipped!
Lemons: You will need about 6 lemons for this recipe. Four of the lemons will be juiced, and the other two lemons will be sliced and added to the pitcher. Be sure to wash the lemons thoroughly before juicing them and slicing them. If using bottled lemon juice, use about 2 tablespoons of lemon concentrate for each freshly squeezed lemon.
Sweetened Condensed Milk: The sweetened condensed milk gives the drink sweetness, as well as creaminess. Do not substitute evaporated milk in this recipe. For even more sweetness, feel free to add more than just a 1/4 cup of milk.
Sugar: It doesn’t get much sweeter than adding granulated sugar to the mix!
Variations to Creamy Lemonade
This is a nonalcoholic drink suitable for all ages. But, you could add vodka to the mix for more of a vodka lemonade adult drink. Or, add some homemade ginger ale or a splash of cherry limeade to your glass.
- crushed ice
- 1-2 large lemons, thinly sliced
- 4 large lemons, juiced (approximately 1 cup)
- ¼ cup sweetened condensed milk, or more, to taste
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- water, approximately 2 cups
- Fill a half-gallon (2-quart) pitcher halfway with crushed ice. Top with sliced lemons.
- In a medium bowl, combine the lemon juice, sweetened condensed milk, and sugar. Stir until the sugar dissolves.
- Pour the lemon juice mixture over the ice.
- Fill the pitcher with water and stir to combine. Serve immediately.

I made this during a visit from my Phoenix cousins. They were skeptical when they saw me ruin perfectly good fresh lemonade with condensed milk….but we 4 polished off the pitcher with our dinner and they took the recipe home to serve to their friends and family. We bought more lemons and are using the rest of the can to make another pitcher today! YUM!!!
Do you think it is possible to stir up all the ingredients a few hours ahead of time, then pour over ice?

Thank you for posting this recipe. I made it this morning for brunch with my mom and she started to cry after she took her first drink. She said it tasted just like the lemon drink her dad used to make when she was a child back in the 40s.
