A fun cake for Easter, this Easter Cake – Surprise Inside Cake is one that will leave guests shocked and delighted!

Easter Egg Surprise Inside Cake!

I made a cake in the shape of a giant egg. And trust me, it is not as hard as you would think!

To decorate the cake I just sectioned off four areas and decorated them each with royal icing or fondant. You can also use buttercream if you don’t want to mess with royal icing.

I used my White Cake recipe, made 4 layers, carved the egg shape and then frosted with whipped buttercream.

  1. So adorable, but I expect nothing less from you. I wish I had time to make some of the beautiful things that I see on here!

  2. The chick inside is so much cuter than just an egg yolk but I don’t think mine would turn out as cute.

  3. You inspire me. so much! I just don’t know how you come up with these things =o) I haven’t gotten brave enough to try making your cakes yet, but the cookies are so good, I have friends and co-workers hiring me to make them for parties!
Should I win the $, it’ll go towards buying more supplies =oD

  4. i LOVE your Easter Egg Cake! I just found your blog on Be Different Act Normal. (I’m kind of new to craft/treat blogs). I love your stuff and can’t wait to see more.
Oh, and I can sympathize with the exact change dilemma. I take piano lessons for $15 a week and my poor teacher is always trying to remember if I owe her or not because I just over pay and give her $20’s.
