A fun cake for Easter, this Easter Cake – Surprise Inside Cake is one that will leave guests shocked and delighted!
I made a cake in the shape of a giant egg. And trust me, it is not as hard as you would think!
To decorate the cake I just sectioned off four areas and decorated them each with royal icing or fondant. You can also use buttercream if you don’t want to mess with royal icing.
But you know I can’t make a cake without a surprise inside…
So I made a little chick Surprise Inside Cake!
My kids loved it and were so excited!
I used my White Cake recipe, made 4 layers, carved the egg shape and then frosted with whipped buttercream.
LOL haha made it 60 cause you’re too lazy to get the correct change XD an amazing way to handle money haha
but omg lol I was actually REALLY surprised at what was inside the cake XDD when you said there was a surprise in there, I was thinking a hollowed cake with candy inside haha but that is just amazing XD
I wanna try making a chick inside a cake now too (I ahvent even done the heart inside one yet!!), only not egg shaped D: I only eat eggs. I dont make them- or rather I cant XD;
bravo to you for what you did there haha

Awesome job Amanda! When you have time for a tutorial, I’d love to see it. 🙂
BTW, I’m STILL waiting for you to redo the St. Patty’s cake and put a shamrock surprise inside. 🙂
What’s the next major holiday….4th of July? Well, it’ll be interesting to see how you get an American flag inside…. 😉
WOW! That is incredible! Yes… a tutorial is definitely needed! I can’t even imagine how that was done, but I love it!
