A fun cake for Easter, this Easter Cake – Surprise Inside Cake is one that will leave guests shocked and delighted!
I made a cake in the shape of a giant egg. And trust me, it is not as hard as you would think!
To decorate the cake I just sectioned off four areas and decorated them each with royal icing or fondant. You can also use buttercream if you don’t want to mess with royal icing.
But you know I can’t make a cake without a surprise inside…
So I made a little chick Surprise Inside Cake!
My kids loved it and were so excited!
I used my White Cake recipe, made 4 layers, carved the egg shape and then frosted with whipped buttercream.
Wow, I wish I had this cake to give to my grandkids on Sunday. They would love it! It’s the first Easter we’ve been able to spend with them. So exciting!
I followed you. Very cute to put the chick in the cake:)!
This such a cute cake 🙂
Gee, I gave away 15 pieces of art on mine last month and didn’t get this many comments if you added all of them…I guess people prefer cake…or maybe the cash…hmmm. The cake is gorgeous, just like the heart one was, and the rainbow cake, and the St. Pat’s cake…I love dropping over to see what you are doing!
ahhh! i love the cake!
That is without a DOUBT the cutest Easter cake I have EVER seen!
I love, love love, the inside! 🙂 The outsides really cute too!
I love this cake. LOVE IT. Even more than the faith cake and I hope that it’s ok that I said that.
I am responsible for bringing dessert on Easter Sunday and I SOOOO want to bring something like this but I don’t have the nerve to even try.
I already follow you on twitter. Let’s be honest…I follow you on everything everywhere all the time.
Love,
