Having Karen from Surviving Motherhood here has been amazing!!  I am loving getting to get to know her face to face… which, I gotta tell ya, is exactly like she is on her blog.  Precious!

We still have the Moms Night Out event tonight in Burnsville, which Karen is the keynote speaker at, but last night we had a few minutes and were able to get the vlog done!

Let preface this by saying… I REALLY dislike seeing myself on the screen.  I think, "Is that how I look?  Do I really make that face all the time?  Stop fidgeting!"

So!  I picked three of the questions submitted and we answered them Karens hotel room last night.

I have NO makeup on.  I did not comb my hair.  And my eyes look strangely alien like.  (for the record, they are blue, but you'd never be able to tell that!)

But hanging out with Karen is a huge blessing and I love it.  Thank you so much Karen!

Without further ado..

  1. I liked it..didn’t notice the fidgeting at all! You looked very natural in front of the camera. Your genuine sweetness comes right through!! I will be at the Mom’s event tonight in B’ville (where I grew up by the way). Looking forward to it!

  2. Loved it! And I decided I’m your favorite 😉 Army wife who also is living in Germany native Kansan who’s been reading you since the days of AOL J’Land! hehe! (Tried covering all!) Oh and I really loved the comment from your real life friend Angie! Soooooooooo sweet!

  3. I HAD to watch this with Maya. She (and Dane) were very enamoured with the video. It was GREAT! And you are COMPLETELY and TOTALLY who you are in your blog. I LOVE it. I will have a post all about our little get together soon (as soon as we get a picture together! Good Grief! What were we thinking, or NOT thinking?)
Seriously, I can’t tell you how excited I am to get to know you! OH, and I checked out the blue cake you took to the Andersons. I LOVE it!

  5. HEhee!! I always like seeing video clips of you, Amanda! You seem like the exact kinda person I could hang out all day with: GENUINE.
And I just saw in your LinkWithin below about how you did a post featuring some of your best commenters. Well, dern-it-all if I didn’t have a draft going of the same thing right now, thinking I was totally original in my idea! I think – we think alike, sista!! =-D Great minds. Great minds INDEED!!! We need to hang out sometime. It’s not that far, right?

  6. Enjoyed “meeting” you and learning a little more about you from this interview (and from Angie!). Your blue eyes may not have come through clearly but your heart of gold certainly did. You are truly a wonderful and talented person. As for struggling with some parenting challenges…we all have at one time or another. Trust in God and in your instincts and as long as the love is consistent, all will work out.

  7. Great interview! I have a quick question though…what settings do you use on your camera when you take shots of your children? I would love to know!
Thank you for any information 🙂
