Home of the Original “EKG” cookie!

Heart shaped cookies with a piped EKG line!

Edited to Add: This post was originally written years ago… back in the day when I made decorated sugar cookies for clients!

When Elena and I talked about making cookies for her cousins graduation, I gotta tell ya, I was stumped.

Tina just graduated from nursing school, and I had NO IDEA what kind of cookies to make for a graduate.

A cap? (boring) A diploma? (weird shaped cookie) A band aid? (gross! although…maybe) So anyway, I went for basics.

Clean, white, sterile basics.

Are you overwhelmed by my creativity?

Yeah. I was pretty under-whelmed too. I had to do something to those plain white letters…

Ha! I figured if the band aid was small it wouldn’t seem so gross. 😉

The smallest syringe EVER.

The essential nursing stethoscope.

Get it? Heart cookie… squiggly line thingy that represents heart beat? (An EKG (or EKC as some say))

Did you know you would be learning important technical medical jargon on my baking blog today that would make you smarter and less socially awkward?

You’re welcome.

Even some good ole red crosses.

And then, because I can never leave well enough alone, I made this.

Has anyone out there ever gone through nursing school or know someone who has? Is this giant obnoxious ‘nursing school survival list’ cookie even funny?

I admit it, I have no idea. But if it’s not, please don’t tell me.

Congratulations Tina! Can’t wait to see how many wonderful ways you will make the world a better place!

Heart shaped cookies with a piped EKG line!

The cookie above (and in the video) was piped with whipped vanilla buttercream. I used a #3 tip with red buttercream to pipe the line.
