Home of the Original “EKG” cookie!
Edited to Add: This post was originally written years ago… back in the day when I made decorated sugar cookies for clients!
When Elena and I talked about making cookies for her cousins graduation, I gotta tell ya, I was stumped.
Tina just graduated from nursing school, and I had NO IDEA what kind of cookies to make for a graduate.
A cap? (boring) A diploma? (weird shaped cookie) A band aid? (gross! although…maybe) So anyway, I went for basics.
Clean, white, sterile basics.
Are you overwhelmed by my creativity?
Yeah. I was pretty under-whelmed too. I had to do something to those plain white letters…
Ha! I figured if the band aid was small it wouldn’t seem so gross. 😉
The smallest syringe EVER.
The essential nursing stethoscope.
Get it? Heart cookie… squiggly line thingy that represents heart beat? (An EKG (or EKC as some say))
Did you know you would be learning important technical medical jargon on my baking blog today that would make you smarter and less socially awkward?
You’re welcome.
Even some good ole red crosses.
And then, because I can never leave well enough alone, I made this.
Has anyone out there ever gone through nursing school or know someone who has? Is this giant obnoxious ‘nursing school survival list’ cookie even funny?
I admit it, I have no idea. But if it’s not, please don’t tell me.
Congratulations Tina! Can’t wait to see how many wonderful ways you will make the world a better place!
The cookie above (and in the video) was piped with whipped vanilla buttercream. I used a #3 tip with red buttercream to pipe the line.
Super cute and fun cookie idea! I love your little drawings on the letters!
Absolutely fabulous! So creative. And I LOVE the band aid cookie and the little stethoscope is adorable. Hubby is a doc, he would love these. The big cookie rules is an inspired touch.
Very cute idea and execution was fantastice even the the survival list!!!
very fun … I love letter cookies. 🙂 So tell me though … how did you package them?? The few I have done with words have been a bit of a challenge in the packaging department.
That is amazingly creative! I’m sure that tastes more delightful than the way it looks.

I’m such a nerd – or maybe such a mom. I don’t know which. Maybe both??? Ha ha ha. But when I saw the title of this on my blog reader, I totally was thinking, “Umm… Please don’t let this be a bunch of bras and booby cookies!” Like I said, I’m a nerd.
These are adorable!

GENIUS, GENIUS, GENIUS!!!!!!
You never cease to amaze me…really!!!!!!!
Can you ship goodies to California????? Seriously! What are your rates???
I survived Nursing School 7 years ago 🙂 LOVE the cookies. The heart cookie is too cute and the survival list made me laugh. Great job, as always.
I wouldn’t want to even eat them if they were mine!!
I like the heart one, cute idea.
been a nurse for 30 years…I work with infection control nurses, and they would love your rule #1. I think the idea is delightful and you are a gem!!
