I love polka dots.
Like. Love love polka dots. I even pretend I have polka dot underwear.
Dont judge.
But anyway, I was in love with this cake from its conception.
This happy fun sparkly polka dot invitation paper was the perfect inspiration.
I wrapped long skinny glass vases in the paper.
And wrapped silverware in coordinating polka dot ribbon.
Then filled the long skinny vases with huge dot cookies on a stick.
I made silver dollar size polka dot cookies on a stick.
I made way to many huge polka dot cookies on a stick.
Good thing I really enjoy eating huge polka dot cookies on a stick.
And there had to be lots and lots of mini polka dot cookies for munching.
Now that its done, I have thought of 100 more ways to celebrate the polka dot.
I am just crossing my fingers I get to make another polka dot cake in the future!
Absolutely adore this polka dot party!

I’ve been trying to make a layer cake. But everytime I crumb coat it the cake falls apart. I wait until the cake has cooled down to crumb coat it. But when I out icing it starts break around the top and such. What can I do?
How do you get your colors so bright? I have wiltons food coloring but my icing colors are always dull or soft. I love the really bright icing polka dots against the white of the cake. Very cute!
