  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1/2 teaspoon white vinegar

Instructions

  • In a small bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  • In a large bowl, using an electric mixer on medium-high speed, beat sugar, egg, and oil for 1 to 2 minutes or until fluffy.

  • Transfer cupcakes to a wire rack to cool.

  5. The last gift I got was for my birthday from my husband. It was whisk. Just a whisk. Not an electric one or jewel-encrusted. I tease him about it relentlessly.

And the Babycakes maker is actually on my Christmas wishlist! If I win it, then I will wrap it, put it under the tree, and tell my husband he already got my gift. This will ease his stress over picking something else from the baking aisle.

  6. My boyfriend actually got me an early Christmas gift . . . it was a black KitchenAid stand mixer! I love to bake, but I was limited in what I could make, so I always wanted one (best guy ever for getting me one!). He gave it to me early so I could do my Christmas baking with it (AKA, he wants cookies, ya’ll!)!

I also liked the page (I made sure to fill out my name above as per my FB).

  7. The last gift I received was a beautiful crystal bowl, a wedding gift almost 2 years late. Hehe…in defense of the giver- there was a massive snowstorm the day we got married and we have been getting gifts spread out consistently over the last two years….

  8. I did a favor for a friend and they gave me an unexpected treat!
4 mini lava cakes to share with my family for dinner that night.
My 12 year old daughter (my creative soul) and my 14 year old son (chocolate lover!) especially enjoyed the indulgence for the day as we never get the chance to bake during the week.
