Naughty White Russian is a cocktail made with vodka, Kahlua, Rumchata, and heavy cream, served over ice in a lowball glass with the rim dipped in brown sugar and cinnamon. Try my Peppermint White Russian or Drunken Snowman Cocktail for a couple of other alcoholic beverages perfect for the winter months.ย
Naughty White Russian
This drink is a little bit naughty because I messed with the Classic White Russian recipe. (And, you may be on the naughty list if you have too many of these…) I added RumChata to the drink itself and dipped the rim of the glass in simple syrup, brown sugar, and cinnamon. It’s a dessert-like adult beverage that is easily sippable sitting around a fire on a cold winter’s evening or as a nightcap.
Ingredients
Simple Syrup: Simple syrup is added to many cocktails; this time, the rim of the glass is dipped into it before being dipped into the brown sugar-cinnamon mixture. If you don’t have any on hand, make your own simple syrup to have on hand.
Brown Sugar and Cinnamon: Mix together the brown sugar and cinnamon to add to the rim of the low ball glass.
Vodka: Choose your favorite brand of vodka to use in the drink. You may notice that vodka is not the primary ingredient in this cocktail, like in the Classic White Russian. I saved that job for RumChata.
Kahlua: Kahlua is a coffee-flavored liqueur. You could also use a shot of espresso or brewed coffee in place of the Kahlua if there is already enough liquor added to the drink.
RumChata Cream Liqueur: This cream-based liqueur is made with rum, cinnamon, and vanilla. And, you can even make your own! Baileys is another creamy liqueur, but with chocolate flavor and Irish whiskey. However, Baileys does have a vanilla and cinnamon liqueur that you could use in this drink.
Heavy cream: Heavy cream is at least 30% fat (as opposed to half and half, which is only 10-18% fat). In a pinch, you could add milk or even coffee creamer to this drink.

Did you make this recipe?
Thank you for making my recipe! You took pictures, right? Well go ahead and post them on Instagram! Be sure to mention me @iambaker and use the hashtag #YouAreBaker.
They are the best, only wish you could use something other than Kailua, not a coffee drinker and it can be rather overpowering.
Love it! Wish the Khalua could be replaced, can be an overpowering taste if youโre not a coffee drinkerโฆ
I have a Crรจme de Cacao I bet would pair nicely with the Rumchatta for a similar cocktail without the coffee flavor.
So Iโve been making versions of this ever since I tried a pumpkin pie martini which was made from Kahlua pumpkin spice flavor, vanilla vodka, rumchata and milk. Iโve been looking for exact proportions and found your site! I love it. Thank you so much! I do add milk instead of heavy cream and I add 2 ounces. I drink it way too fast and just one drink makes me super tipsy! Thanks!!!
If you put your white Russian in a tall glass and top it off with coke. you get what I know as a Colorado bulldog. It goes down easy because it tastes like a milkshake.
Instead of Kahlua try dark cream de cocoa
Or Pepsi…we call it a Smith n Wesson!
HAVEN’T MADE IT YET. SURE GONE’A TRY IT WHEN I GET A CHANCE.
Can this be shaken and not stirred?
I make what I call a special martiniโฆ I use white rum, kahlua , and top with the coffe creamer French Vanilla. Mix in a shaker with ice or in a blender with ice.
Sounds delicious
I am looking for a big batch recipe for a busy bar for the weekend before Christmas
