*Tutorial HERE!
I have been dreaming about this cake for about a month.
Dreaming of layers that went up and down instead of horizontally.
Dreaming of obscene amounts of delicate frosting roses.
Dreaming of a variety of flavors.
And finally, my dream has come true.
Normally I share recipes and techniques and design aspects and every detail I can think of sharing… and maybe I will do that if anyone cares to know. But for now, I just want to enjoy it.
Why?
Because tomorrow (Feb. 1st) is my birthday. And I wanted to make myself a cake! (that’s me getting sassy with myself)
I just want to sit back, relax, and have a piece.
But I do wish I could share it with you.
Oh my goodness!!! This is amazing! I hope after you relax and enjoy yourself you tell us how to make this beauty!!!! Happy Birthday! You always inspire me!
Oh my, that is the most beautiful cake! Please share how you make the roses, it is just lovely, and if it is not too difficult I might have to try it.
Amazing. Again! Happy Birthday, my friend!
WELL THEN! It’s your birthday, is it? Happy Birthday!
I’m mad at you for not sharing a tutorial. I’m not going to speak to you ever again. Never.
JUST KIDDING! But I AM mad about no tutorail. 🙁
Happy bday! Do teach us Jedi cake master!!!!
beautiful!
this is so beautiful!
Happy Birthday! That cake is absolutely beautiful. Words fail me describing that rose frosting. I really hope you will share the how-to with us! Thank you for being so generous!
I wondered over here from Bluebird Notes blog- she threw down a challenge, which I am accepting- to make your suprise-inside heart cake for Valentines’ day. I am having one of those days when I find a ton of new blogs that are very well established but I had no idea. It is fun and overwhelming and exciting and I find myself spending hours blog hopping. Nothing gets done but I find so many amazing women who design, create, make, bake, cook, and sell unbelievably cool, handmade items.
I am loving what little of your blog I have seen and I plan on spending a few more hours checking it all out. I love to bake and for years I loved to make recipes out of Chocolatier Magazine- cakes comprised of a sponge drenched in a liqueur, a complex filling or two, ganache, fruit/nuts/something sweeter, and cool decorations. Rich, Rich, Rich cakes but oh so fun and yummy. This was all before the internet! I had to source my own supplies and the only directions I had were those that were written in the magazine. No Goggling “how to” do something easier, faster, better. Ah, the stupidity of youth….. I didn’t know I should be overwhelmed!
I adore your rose covered cake. I bought a yard of purple fabric in the exact pattern as your cake-all those roses- that I love love love because it is beyond gorgeous. Have a “Happy Birthday” and thanks for sharing your amazing baking skills, experiments, experiences, and products. Danee
Happy birthday! And my oh my what a lovely looking cake. The roses are so perfect. Bet it tastes good.
