Ingredients

  • 4 oz white chocolate chopped
  • 16 oz cream cheese
  • 3/4 c sugar
  • 1 tbsp. flour
  • 2 eggs at room temperature
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 tbsp. heavy cream
  • pinch of salt

Instructions

  • Heat oven to 350 degrees. Prepare a 9-in springform pan and set aside.
  • Using a double broiler or in 30-second increments in the microwave, melt the white chocolate.
  • In mixer, combine cream cheese and sugar until light and smooth.
  • Add in flour, salt, and vanilla.
  • One at a time, add in the room temperature eggs.
  • Add in the heavy cream and beat on medium until creamy.
  • Remove mixer bowl from stand and pour in the melted white chocolate. Fold in by hand.
  • Pour mixture into prepared pan and bake for about 30 minutes, or until center is set. Remove from oven.
  • Allow cheesecake to cool completely before removing from pan. I placed my cheesecake in the fridge until I was ready to assemble the cake.
  • You can use whatever crust you prefer for cheesecake, I used a premade Oreo crust I purchased at the store. I simply pressed the crust into the bottom of the pan and poured the cheesecake mixture over the top

milky choc cake

I am completely incapable of honoring any diet resolution, so instead sharing with you one of the most ridiculous, over the top, insane cakes I have ever thought up much less made.

Iย wasn’tย planning on sharing it because its so crazy. ย  Its got roughly 3,456 calories per slice. ย In addition to the obnoxious sweetness, it was the most expensive cake I have ever made for fun, rolling in at roughly $30. ย For a cake. ย For one cake. ย One little cake.

But, based on some blogging stories of late, I am going to share it anyway. ย My blogging motto for 2013 is “Be Me”.

And more times than not *I* am totally ridiculous and over the top and obnoxious.

*shame spiral*

Lets still be friends. ย I promise to behave in public. ย Most of the time.

I used Ree’s Milky Way Cake recipe and prepared it in a 9-inch cake pan. ย There was a little batter left over so I threw that in another 9-inch pan and had a little snack. ย (If you choose to do the same, just keep an eye on it during baking, as it will cook faster with less batter.) ย That was the top layer.

I also used her Milky Way frosting to cover the cake, although my cake was very chilled when I added it.

The bottom layer is a deeply rich Chocolate Cake. ย In place of one of the cups of hot water, I used 1 cup of fresh brewed coffee. ย That was the bottom layer and the White Chocolate Cheesecake with Oreo Crust is in the middle.

I also covered the cake in a buttercream crumb coat before chilling it overnight. ย The link goes to my Neapolitan Rose Cake, which is covered in 47 pounds the most wonderfullyย lusciousย and satisfying basic buttercream.

See, look at that. ย I cant stop.

Must. Remember. To. Be. Healthier.

  1. No diet resolutions for me this year, so this cake will definitely be on my bucket list of cakes to make ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. I adore that this is completely over the top and that you don’t give a flip about resolutions. Neither do I so that makes two of us. Gorgeous creation!

  3. uh…it just doesn’t get much more decadent than this. creators like you are why i don’t bother making resolutions. ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. Oh my gosh, this cake is making me drool! I simply have to make it! I do have a question, though. Did you put a layer of the buttercream frosting between the dark chocolate cake and the cheesecake? And what about between the cheesecake and the Milky Way cake? I just want to make sure I do it right. After all, you are definitely right when you say it is VERY expensive to make! :0)

    1. I put a layer of buttercream over the bottom layer of dark chocolate cake, and then no more until the crumb coat. Please do let me know if you have more questions! ๐Ÿ™‚

      1. hi! I was wondering if you put pecans in your Milky Way frosting? (this is the very top coating right?, ontop of the buttercream?) and also what are those delicious chopped up things around the cake? more milky ways?
        thanks!

  5. There’s the saying we’ve all heard “There’s no crying in baseball.” We need to start saying “There’s no shame in baked goods!!” I don’t believe in resolutions (unless it’s a postive one like being nice to strangers) and I don’t believe in diets. I can’t wait to make this! Thank you so much for sharing! And the photos are gorgeous!
