Ingredients & Substitutions

Limeade: Limeade is concentrated lime juice that has been sweetened. You can buy it already bottled. Or, you can make it from frozen concentrate or a powder. Just make sure you make about 6 1/2 cups of limeade for the base of the punch.

Pineapple Juice: Add a tropical twist to the drink by adding pineapple juice!

Raspberry Sherbet: Raspberry Sherbet is a frozen dessert with a raspberry flavor. It adds a fruity taste to the punch and softens it for a smooth and slightly tart texture. You could substitute raspberry sorbet if that is what you have on hand. Or, experiment with another fruity flavor like strawberry sherbet.

Vodka: The alcoholic kick in the punch is from the vodka. It is not strong, but alcohol nonetheless. You could substitute your favorite spirits like gin, rum (light or dark), tequila, brandy, or whiskey.

Lemon-Lime Soda: Adding lemon-lime soda to the punch adds some carbonation and fizz to the drink. Use your favorite brand like Sprite or 7-Up. Or, make homemade lemon-lime soda!

Garnish: Add a slice of lime and frozen raspberries for an added ‘punch’ (get it?) of color and flavor.

Can I Make Sherbet Christmas Punch Without Alcohol?

Absolutely! It is easy to turn this into a Sherbet Christmas Punch Mocktail, a nonalcoholic punch suitable for all ages. Just leave out the vodka! Or, replace the vodka with more fruit juice (like pineapple juice), lemon-lime soda, club soda, or ginger ale.

Can I Make Sherbet Christmas Punch Ahead Of Time?

Sure, you can get the punch prepared (except for the lemon-lime soda) the night before so it is ready to go the next day! Combine the limeade, pineapple juice, raspberry sherbet, and vodka (if using) in a large bowl or pitcher. Cover it and place it in the refrigerator for up to overnight. When ready to serve, add the lemon-lime soda. Serve with slices of lime and frozen raspberries for garnish.
