Pineapple Pretzel Fluff is made with cream cheese, whipped cream, crushed pineapple, and toasted pretzels for added texture. The pretzels give this dessert or side dish a salty crunch in each bite. I also have Pineapple Fluff without the baked pretzels you may want to try!
Ingredients & Substitutions
Pretzels: Chop up the pretzel twists before toasting them in the oven. It only takes about 5 minutes, but is worth the time! Toasting the pretzels will help them keep their crunch in the salad longer!
Sugar: Granulated sugar will be mixed with the cream cheese until creamy. Ensure that the cream cheese is at room temperature before creaming with the sugar.
Crushed Pineapples: Before folding in the crushed pineapples, drain them. Or, drain and chop up pineapple chunks to use. Fresh pineapple would also be delicious. If using fresh, chop it into small pieces or crush the pineapple using a food processor or blender.
Whipped Topping: Storebought whipped topping like Cool Whip or homemade whipped cream would work in this fluff recipe.
Can I Make Pineapple Pretzel Fluff Without Toasting The Pretzels?
Yes, you could simply add chopped pretzels to the fluff when ready to serve. However, toasting the pretzels in advance elevates the flavor and crunch! Plus, it will keep the pretzels crispier for longer once mixed into the fluff!
Can I Substitute Another Fruit For The Pineapple?
Sure! This fluff would be delicious with other kinds of fruit, too! Try it with mango, strawberries, peaches, mandarin oranges, or blueberries, just to name a few!
How To Store Pineapple Pretzel Fluff
Pineapple Fluff is best served chilled, the same day. When serving, wait until the last minute to add the pretzels. If storing leftovers, cover the bowl or store the fluff in an airtight container in the refrigerator. It will last up to 2-3 days, but the pretzels will lose some of their crunch the longer the fluff is stored.
