If you could see me right now… I am shaking my head back and forth in disbelief.  This whole process has been so humbling and scary and yet rewarding.  I am not a “go-getter” by nature,  I tend to just let life happen around me and if it’s good, then all the better.  But this, this I had to work for.

Colin Powell says is best.  “A dream doesn’t become reality through magic; it takes sweat, determination, and hard work.”

What a labor of love!!  I am so thrilled with the book and hope you are too!

If you have not yet ordered your copy of surprise-inside cakes, now is the time!!

AMAZON

Ordering through Amazon is a great way to save money… as it is only $16.50 versus $30 in stores.

  1. Amanda, Your book is simply stunning! I cannot wait to see you next week and give you a huge hug! So proud of you- your hard work has paid off!

  2. Hi Amanda! I just bought your book and can’t wait to bake one of your “surprise inside” cakes next Saturday. It will be the perfect way for me to tell my husband that after 15 years of trying that I too have a “surprise inside”!
Congratulations on your amazing accomplishment. I look forward to using this book for many more happy occasions still to come!

    1. OH MY GOSH!!!! Really??? I just got all teary!!! What a fabulous gift for him and YAY YOU!!! Take lots of pictures and come back and share everything. And I am here to help if you have any questions along the way! 🙂

  3. I just found your blog (through The Pioneer Woman) and I’m addicted! I don’t have a snowball’s hope in Hades of my cakes ever looking as scrumptious as yours, but I plan to have a lot of fun trying (and tasting). The pictures you’ve shared are irresistible; I immediately ordered 2 of your books, one for a gift and one for me. Thanks for sharing these beautiful creations. It’s obvious you pour a lot of love into your baking.

    1. Thank you so much Leli! That means the world to me. I am here and happy to help if you have any questions along the way… and I really hope you have FUN baking!!!

      1. OHMIGOSH your beautiful book arrived last night and my kids and I had the best time looking through it and planning what we were going to make. The photos are so exquisitely delectable I want to eat the pages. Your instructions are extremely clear; it makes me-a VERY beginning baker-feel like I might actually be able to pull off these recipes (with the help of a lot of prayers and a lot of luck haha). I’m making the oreo cake first, since it’s for company tomorrow and it looks less precise than some of the others (although I’m sure I could still find a way to completely screw it up). Thanks again! PS I grew up in Chaska and my family still lives in that area. I bet you’re excited to get those 5 babies of yours outside after the winter you’ve had there!

        1. Hi Leli!! I am so so so SO glad you like the book. I just love the idea of you and your kids all reading it together. I am sure you will do great with the Oreo cake!! It’s so delicious… 🙂 And yes… we have Spring Fever something fierce!!

          1. Ok so the Oreo cake looked amazing and tasted even better. So rich and sooooo decadent. Did I mention rich? The little kids could not believe they were getting cookies INSIDE A CAKE! This one is definitely going on the ‘keeper’ list. Just one question: How did you get such a clean cut through the Oreos? Is there a trick? The Oreos in mine pulled out of the cake whole when I tried to cut through them (which didn’t slow us down one bit, BTW hehe.)

          2. Great question Leli! I try to always cut into a cold cake with a hot, sharp knife. It seems to help! Glad you are enjoying things! 🙂
