When you see this site.  Seriously… the amount of detail…

I saw this listed on Cop Mama's site (shes a Cop so shes knows her stuff)

You need to go to:

RIGHT NOW, enter your name and see if your personal info is listed.
If so, scroll down to the VERY bottom and click on "privacy" to request to remove it.

It is a clearinghouse of info and may include:
A MAP OF YOUR HOUSE
YOUR BIRTHDATE
YOUR CHILDREN'S NAMES
YOUR SPOUSE'S NAME

And other personal information you may not feel comfortable letting the whole world know about you!

Thank you Cop Mama for this info… I went and removed Chad's name. (I was not listed)  I just cant get over the amount of detail on there!  As a blogger…well it was just scary!

  1. thanks! whether or not there are other sites with information im glad to know I can at least take the info off of this one. So creepy! and scary!
I was listed but Josh was so we took him off.
I will definitely be passing this along to my readers. I linked your website in there! 🙂 thanks for the info.

  2. I clicked around and couldn’t see how to delete any info. Sad that that is what will become more common with technology.

  3. I love what it had to say about us! Apparently, my husband is African-American, enjoys quilting, reading romance novels, and listens to country music.
    HA!

  4. According to Spokeo – I am a 34 yr old female who lives in Oslo, Norway ??@!!!! LOL.
Thanks for sharing: I am a freak when it comes to ensuring privacy settings in email/social networking sites etc don’t allow people to find out anything about me other than what I volunteer to disclose.
I found a similar site which lists things in even more detail and (gasp!) even comes up with photos it picks up from your facebook page etc (if you accidentally left your settings loose) and lists all your friends etc .. I can’t remember the name of the site now but when I do, I will add it here for others to check out.

  5. I didn’t find myself but found my husband and most of the information on that site was wrong! 🙂 I couldn’t find the button to have it removed either.

  6. Yes, unfortunately I have found that it’s pretty easy to find anyone anywhere with all the info out there…like someone said before you just have to google a name…and I’ve found just googling my husband’s email address brings up EVERYTHING.
The privacy button is on the very very bottom..but you had to enter even more info to have the listing removed? Which I don’t trust for a second.
Thanks for bringing it to our attention though!

  7. maybe it’s like wack-a-mole, but I wacked this one! Also went thru and removed my family members that were listed (they listed my 5 y.o. as a parent in her 30s!). Also used my “junk” email on yahoo as to not worry about being put on more lists….

  8. Thanks for sharing. I’m not going to get too worked up over it, for a couple of reasons.
For example only about half of the info was correct. I certainly don’t live in a 1+ million dollar home as they say, let alone one without central air in Florida. LOL! Heck they didn’t even have my Zodiac sign correct or the fact that I am interested in politics. Atleast they had that I contribute to charities…cause I do that!
The pics they showed are not of me, they might be ones I’ve commented on via Facebook. But then again, a lot of that is open to people too. It amazes me how many haven’t set their privacy settings on Facebook. I don’t even know if I have.
Not too mention, that there are literally a gazillion sites out there that offer the same info. And as you can see from this one, even more is available at a price. It’s all public record I assume. And a lot of us in blog land have seen how much you can find out just by searching those.
I do find this type of site handy for finding addresses of people. The online white pages. Especially when I lost my address book. It was easier to just search through, then call a bunch of people up.

  9. thanks for providing this link…just searched and neither MB nor I was on it – phew!! Me likes to remain anonymous
