Earth Day, which is April 22, is a great time to be thankful for and bring attention to this beautiful world that we live in.

I love having picnics with my kids. They seem to delight and fascinate in the smallest of things… calling attention to details that I would normally take for granted.

They have this inner joy and peace in their surroundings… seeing a ladybug crawling up a long blade of grass or a butterfly slowly dancing through flower blossoms.
I love that we get to spend time together outside breathing in clean fresh air and seeing the glorious nature that God created.
I am trying to do everything I can to make sure my children always have a blue sky to gaze into!

This year, The Nature Conservatory is putting together a global effort to help preserve the earth. They want to give back to this beautiful earth that we call home, and I think that is great!
In addition to their tireless dedication to preserving the earth, they have graciously offered to give away one totally stocked picnic basket valued at $75 to a lucky reader!

I’m so glad you reminded me! We hadn’t thought about it! Hopefully my husband will be off work so we can go hiking. We’ve been meaning to take our 16-month old on our favorite trail before we move to another state. Earth Day sounds like the perfect time!
I love Earth Day! This year, we will be going to church and working on our garden in the afternoon. Thanks for the giveaway!
I plan on working in my new raised garden beds. Thanks for the giveaway!

A friend is having a birthday party for her son. In lieu of presents, she’s asked every child to bring a used book to trade with another.
For Earth Day, we’re going to plant a garden with our girls.
On Earth Day I am actually already planning a picnic up in the mountains near a creek for my boyfriend’s birthday. It’s a surprise and I’ve bough paper lanterns and all sorts of cute decorations to set up a little refuge in the forest. I can’t wait to surprise him.

I love Earth Day! This year I’ll be spending it shoveling snow! We were “blessed” with 132 inches of snow this year, so I’m trying to hurry spring along, helping to make my yard a greener place!
Every year my son and I go to see the new Disney Nature film being released for Earth Day. He loves that a portion of the monies received goes to a specific fund each year to assist the animals we learn about in the films.
I also plan on installing a rain barrel.
We’ll celebrate with a belated camping trip! Although we won’t do much on the actual day, our family loves to take part in keeping things as green as we can!
Such sweet pics of your kiddos!
I will spend as much time outside as possible =)
What sweet pictures of your kids. And that one of the butterfly is beautiful! My kids adore picnics, too – it really is a special time with them.
I almost forgot about earth day! If I can get my work done, I’d love to go for a long walk or explore a new park.

Since it’s a Sunday, I think we’ll spend some time together as a family…outside! Maybe we’ll go for a bike ride at one of our favorite parks, then have a picnic lunch or dinner afterwards.
I’ve recently brought my partner to my home town of Perth, Australia – so I think we will be spending Earth Day having a lovely picnic in gorgeous Kings Park which overlooks the city and enjoy listening to the warbling magpies and laughing kookaburras while eating scrummy picnic food and just being generally thankful for being able to live in such a beautiful country. After that we’ll help my mum plant a whole load of new vegetables in her veggie boxes in the garden, feed the chooks and gather some eggs.
We will be picnicking and enjoying the great weather .

The Park is part regular-cut-grass field; part natural field; part trees; part playground equipment and *tiny* open-air Pavilion; and just a little bit of everything!! ‘Just *L.*O.*V.*E.* it, for my Nature “fix”!!

For Earth Day I am planning on going around my office & taking everything that can be recylced & showing my coworkers that instead of throwing it in the garbage, they can recycle it. I am also going to do some gardening by spreading some coffee grounds from a coffee company I got for free and use it. I am also going to do some yard clean up
I plan on spending Earth day with my kids and I cleaning up the litter that tends to line our road. It’s very common for people to throw trash out of their cars here, which is terrible.

We were going to spend it outdoors but it was just a yucky day. Wound up watching a movie with our church youth group.

How cool! We made globe pancakes (and showed our son where he lives on the pancake “map”), built window boxes, and put birdseed out for the birds in our new bird feeder.
Spent part of the day weeding my flower bed while coldest played in the mud.

Such a sweet post, Amanda! I have been meaning to have a picnic with my kids lately too. We did spend Earth Day outside playing in our garden and with our chickens, so I guess that counts for something
