Cherry Cheesecake Fluff is a delicious, easy-to-make dessert that is a blend of cream cheese, sugar, cherry pie filling, whipped cream, and marshmallows. It is a perfect, but simple treat for any occasion! The hardest part of the recipe is waiting for the dessert to chill in the refrigerator! If you love this fluff recipe (which I am sure you will, especially if you love cherries), youโll want to try my Pineapple Fluff next!
Ingredients & Substitutions
- Cream Cheese: Before making this dessert, make sure the cream cheese has come to room temperature. It is the rich, creamy base of the dessert. For a lighter option, you could use plain Greek yogurt, but that will make the dessert a bit tangier.
How To Soften Cream Cheese Quickly
If craving this dessert (and why wouldnโt you be?), but forgot to take the cream cheese out of the refrigerator, you can soften it quickly in a couple of different ways:
Microwave Method: Remove the cream cheese from its packaging and place it on a microwave-safe plate. Microwave it on low power in 15-20-second intervals until it reaches the desired softness. Be careful not to overheat it, as cream cheese can quickly become too runny or even melt.
Warm Water Method: Place the wrapped block of cream cheese in a bowl of warm water for about 10-15 minutes. Flip it over every few minutes or so.
- Sugar: Granulated sugar sweetens the cream cheese mixture. You could substitute confectioners’ sugar if you have that on hand.
- Cherry Pie Filling: Look for a can of store-bought cherry pie filling to use. Or, make homemade pie filling! If using homemade pie filling, you will need about 2 cups.
- Whipped Topping: Thaw the whipped topping before folding it into the dessert. Homemade whipped cream would also work.
- Marshmallows: If you don’t have mini marshmallows, you can use regular-sized marshmallows (about 40 of them) cut into smaller pieces.
Can I Use A Different Pie Filling?
Absolutely! This is the perfect recipe to try other pie fillings! I think blueberry pie filling (from my Blueberry Lemon Cream Pie) would be SO good! Or, try the dessert with strawberry, raspberry, mixed berry, or apple pie filling. Which one would you like to try?
Can I Add Other Mix-Ins Or Toppings To My Cherry Cheesecake Fluff?
Yes, you can add other mix-ins or toppings to customize your dessert. I would add crushed graham crackers to mine (for a cheesecake vibe). Or, try adding chocolate chips or chopped nuts. Then, add a dollop of whipped cream and a drizzle of chocolate syrup on top!
How To Store Cherry Cheesecake Fluff
Store cherry cheesecake fluff in an airtight container in the refrigerator. It will last up to 2-3 days. When ready to serve (or enjoy a bite yourself), give the fluff a gentle stir. I do not recommend freezing this dessert as that could affect the creamy texture.

I liked this dessert, but it is super sweet (a little too sweet for me). But, I do like how easy it is to put together, especially if you have company coming over!

This is a quick and easy dessert that tastes amazing!
Annabelle
I love how fluffy and decadent this is. The cherries and marshmallows provide a nice contrast.
Selena
Such a fun and tasty treat! The cherry pie filling really shines, and the fluffiness from the whipped topping makes it irresistible.
Thanks! for this recipe. I have a sweet tooth.
Used just under 1/2 cup of powder sugar since pie filling is sweet. Also didn’t use all the thicken cherry juice. It turned out very yummy. Next day used 1/2 cup of coco powder & 1/3 cup miniature chocolate chips. Equally, yummy. So many varieties to try.
Can i use Splenda.
