Crockpot Candy Ingredients

Peanuts: I used both salted and unsalted peanuts in the recipe. You could definitely get by using all salted or all unsalted, whatever your preference. Folks often add whatever nut they prefer, such as cashews. (Love that!)

German Chocolate: German chocolate adds even more sweetness to the candies. If you can’t find German chocolate, simply use semi-sweet chocolate in its place.

Almond Bark: Almond bark is also known as vanilla-flavored candy coating. It is made from vegetable fats instead of cocoa which is why it is not white chocolate. And, it doesn’t even contain any almonds in it…the name came from its use for covering nuts.

Can I Make Crockpot Candy on the Stovetop?

Yes! Add all of the chocolate into a large, heavy-based pot over low heat. Cook while stirring occasionally until melted and smooth (about 15 minutes). Turn off the heat, then let cool for 5 minutes. Add in the peanuts and stir.
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Dollop spoonfuls of the mixture onto the lined baking sheet. Refrigerate for 20 minutes or until fully set.

How to Store Crockpot Candy

Be sure to let them harden at room temperature before storing. Or, to speed up the process, you can place them in the refrigerator to set.

Store them in an airtight container, in the refrigerator, for up to a month. I like to place them into an airtight container and use wax or parchment paper between the layers.

  1. This recipe looks delicious. I can’t wait to make it. What are your thoughts about adding pretzels 🥨 and m&m for decoration? I’d love your feedback.

  2. I cannot find Almond bark and want to make these in 2 days. I have about 8 oz left over from last year. Can I use 40 ounces of white Candy quick to supplement the 8oz? I don’t want to mess up a whole batch with one major ingredient.

    1. Kay, you do you! This recipe isn’t based off of exact measures like if you were to bake a croissant or something. Being a few ounces off here or there won’t make or break this recipe. The art of cooking is taking a recipe and being able to make it work for you. But your touch makes it all your own. Make it with love and everyone will love it.

    1. Melt all the ingredients without the pretzels. When everything is all melty then toss in the pretzels/ cereal pieces/ marshmallow/ toffee pieces etc right at the end.

      1. I have used crushed pretzels and today made it with Rice Krispies. I just put them in the bottom instead of the peanuts.

  3. For the German chocolate bar, it calls for 1 German chocolate bar, though at the same time says 8 ounces. The German chocolate bar is 4 ounces. So, which amount should be used? 2 bars bar for 8 ounces or 1 bar which is 4 ounces?

    1. Honestly either way works. Looking at all these ingredients- don’t you think it’ll end up delicious? A seasoned cook learns when and how to adjust recipes for their tastes.

    1. Of course that will work. You can even fill a pan with bead sprinkles and when the candies dry- they will have the sprinkles on the bottom. The excess sprinkles can be put back into the jar or used to decorate other treats

  4. How many would you say this serves? I have a treat party and I need 40 bags- just wanting to know if I should double or triple the recipe
