A Gingerbread Martini is an indulgent cocktail that captures the warm and comforting flavors of gingerbread in a boozy and creamy concoction. It’s like a drinkable, grown-up twist to the classic gingerbread man cookies! Top the drink off with some whipped cream and cinnamon, perfect for a cozy night in or a winter celebration! I also have a White Chocolate Martini and White Christmas Mojito that will make it feel like the holiday season!

Ingredients & Substitutions

Vanilla Vodka: Vanilla vodka serves as the primary spirit base for this martini. It adds an alcoholic kick and a slightly sweet vanilla flavor that complements the gingerbread theme. Use your favorite brand of vodka. If you don’t have vanilla vodka, use regular vodka and add a dash of vanilla extract.

Kahlua: Kahlua is a coffee-flavored liqueur. If the vodka is enough liquor for you in this drink, substitute a shot of espresso or brewed coffee for the Kahlua.

Heavy Cream: Heavy cream, also known as heavy whipping cream, gives the martini a creamy texture. If you prefer a lighter option, you could substitute half-and-half or coffee creamer.

Molasses: We can’t forget the molasses in this drink. It is a signature flavor in gingerbread cookies, so it is an important part of this recipe as well!

Spices: Ground ginger and ground cinnamon are added to the mixture, both enhancing the gingerbread flavor.

Garnish: To really elevate the experience (yes, drinking this cocktail could be considered an experience), add some garnish. Top off the drink with a dollop of whipped cream. Then, add a sprinkling of cinnamon for a final touch of warm spice. Cheers!

Can I Make A Gingerbread Martini Without A Cocktail Shaker?

Yes, you can definitely make this martini without a cocktail shaker. Although a shaker is ideal to mix and chill the ingredients, there are other ways to make this drink. A great alternative would be to use a to-go coffee mug with a solid lid. To the mug, pour in the ingredients, add ice, cover the opening mouth part, and get shakin’! When you are ready to pour the contents into the glass, just open up the mouth opening and pour. The lid should hold the ice back so you just get the chilled cocktail. Or, mix the drink in a cocktail glass over ice. This may dilute the drink a bit, but it will still be delicious!

How To Serve To A Large Crowd

If you are hosting a holiday party, or just having a gathering, get a large batch of this gingerbread martini made. Multiply the ingredients by how many people you are planning to serve. Then, mix the ingredients in a large pitcher. Cover the pitcher and store it in the refrigerator to chill until your guests arrive. Serve the drink in chilled glasses or over ice. Don’t forget the whipped cream and ground cinnamon for optional garnish!
