Robin’s Egg Dip is a sweet, creamy treat packed with delicious malt flavor. The smooth cream cheese and whipped topping make it extra creamy, while the chopped Robin’s Egg malted milk balls add a fun crunch, candy sweetness, and a pop of springtime colors! It also makes a lovely Easter dip! It’s super easy to whip up and perfect for dipping graham crackers or vanilla wafers for a tasty snack. And, if you are in the mood for another addictively sweet dip, check out my Booty Dip, too! This dip was inspired by Lemon Tree Dwelling’s Robins Egg Dip.

Ingredients & Substitutions

  • Cream Cheese: Before making this dip, let the cream cheese come to room temperature.

How To Soften Cream Cheese Quickly

Warm Water Method: Place the wrapped block of cream cheese in a bowl of warm water for about 10-15 minutes. Flip it over every few minutes or so.

Microwave Method: Remove the cream cheese from its packaging and place it on a microwave-safe plate. Microwave it on low power in 15-20-second intervals until it reaches the desired softness. Be careful not to overheat it, as cream cheese can quickly become too runny or even melt.

  • Confectioners’ Sugar: Confectioners’ sugar, also called powdered sugar, sweetens the dip without making it gritty. You could use granulated sugar, but it might not dissolve as smoothly.
  • Malt Powder: Malt powder gives the dip its signature malt flavor, which pairs perfectly with the malted milk ball candies. If you can’t find malt powder, you can skip it or try using vanilla extract for a different flavor twist.
  • Malted Milk Balls Candy: To keep with the Easter fun, I used Whoppers Robins Egg malted milk balls candy. You could use any malted milk balls. Or, try the dip with crushed-up chocolate-covered candies.
  • Whipped Topping: A tub of store-bought whipped topping (like Cool Whip) will work to make the dip light and fluffy. Or, make homemade whipped cream to use!

  2. Vanilla wafers
  3. Pretzels like my homemade pretzel bites
  4. Apple Slices
  5. Animal crackers

Can You Use A Different Candy In Robin’s Egg Dip?

Yes, you can use a different candy! If you can’t find Robins Egg malted milk balls, you can try using M&Ms, crushed-up chocolate bars, or any candy you like. Just make sure to chop them into small pieces so they mix well into the dip!

How To Store Robin’s Egg Dip

To store Robin Egg Dip, transfer it to an airtight container and refrigerate for up to 2-3 days. Before serving again, give it a good stir to smooth it out, and feel free to add more whipped topping if needed. For the best texture, I add the chopped Robins Egg malted milk balls just before serving to keep them crunchy. I do not recommend freezing this dip.

I am not a fan of malted milk balls, so this dip would not be my first choice. It is pretty, though, and perfect for Easter!
