Buffalo Chicken Wraps
If you are in the market for a quick, easy, and super delicious weeknight meal, you have come to the right place. Buffalo Chicken Wraps are completely delicious with spicy buffalo flavored rotisserie chicken, fresh crispy veggies, and tangy homemade ranch dressing all wrapped up in a soft flour tortilla. The whole dish is ready and on the dinner table in less than 15 minutes. This is one of those recipes you can modify to your liking pretty quickly too. Add more or less chicken, skip or swap out different veggies with no problem. Exchange the ranch dressing for blue cheese Dressing. This is a great option in a household with some picky eaters. You can skip (or hide) some of the ingredients with ease.
Buffalo Chicken Wrap Recipe
You may think that it would be difficult to make a restaurant quality buffalo chicken wrap, but you would be wrong. The steps are so effortless, this meal will be ready in just minutes! Here is what you will need:
- rotisserie chicken
- buffalo sauce
- large flour tortillas
- ranch dressing or blue cheese dressing
- tomatoes
- cheddar cheese
- red pepper
- shredded lettuce
Now, you can mix all of this up and eat it just as is. I know some people don’t mind a cold buffalo chicken wrap. I, however, like my buffalo chicken wraps heated. So, if the rotisserie chicken is already hot and fresh right from the store, you can skip heating it up and just mix in the buffalo sauce. Assuming that you are like me, and you bought the chicken earlier in the day, you will need to heat it up. I typically grab a skillet and heat the chicken and buffalo sauce until its nice and piping hot (the veggies and the dressing are going to cool it down).
Another tip, wrapping a cold tortilla can prove difficult. Depending on the thickness of the tortilla, a cold tortilla will typically rip, spilling out the stuff you want to keep inside. I would heat them up just a bit. You can throw them in the microwave for 15 seconds and that should do the trick. Another option is to pop them in the oven for just a few minutes, just to warm them up. They should not be hot to the touch. A warm tortilla is much more willing to bend and stretch. Be careful though, if you get it too hot, they will get crispy and break.
Buffalo Chicken Lettuce Wraps
If you are looking to make this even lighter in calories, a great option is to make a buffalo chicken lettuce wrap. To do that, you will skip the tortilla altogether and use lettuce as the ingredient to hold it all together. If you go this route, I suggest Romaine lettuce. It is a sturdy green that will hold together. I usually do three to 4 large pieces of romaine and stagger them, put the ingredients in the middle and roll just like you would normally. It’s not as neat of a process, but it tastes amazing and you will feel pretty good about skipping out on the extra calories.
In the image below I opted for a Spinach & Tomato flavored tortilla wrap. It adds an extra punch of flavor and is lower in calories!
