Chocolate Chip Cake Mix Cookies~ Easy, Fast, and the BEST tasting!

Cake Mix Cookies

Tis the season for cookies! I decided that I need to really amp up my cookie recipe arsenal. As much as I love the fabulous New York Times Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe that takes a good 48 hours to make, I often need something that is faster. (Ok, ok, so I don’t need them faster, but sometimes a girl gets cravings!)

How to Make ANY FLAVOR Cake Mix Cookies

You can take any flavor box cake mix and add:

1/3 cup melted butter

2 eggs

The batter will be thick, and that is ok. (The consistency will vary a little bit from one box mix to another.) I use a mini ice cream scoop and drop the dough about 2-inches apart from other cookies. Bake according to the recipe below and voila! You have an easy cookie that people will enjoy!

So are you ready for an HONEST review?

While I did like these cookies, I could definitely taste that something was distinct. There is a noticeable change in texture and flavor. Quite frankly, there is no substitute for a delicious, from-scratch, homemade chocolate chip cookie and, if you are taking the time to bake one, I say GO FOR IT and grab a great recipe!

  1. Made, and I completely agree nothing beats a good ol’from scratch chocolate chip cookie… However, these cookies were pretty good, I enjoyed how light and fluffy they tasted.

  2. Came across this recipe when I was just looking for something different, and have to say it will become a good backup when I need to make something quick, easy, and rather tasty.

I used a betty crocker french vanilla box cake, added 3 drops of mint extract, and then put in dark chocolate chips. Found 12-13 minutes was perfect.

    Thanks for sharing this recipe.

  3. I did some of what Matt did and added pudding mix with vanilla by Betty Crocker, mine turned out kinda dry tasting so it wasn’t a hit with me
