Do you have that one chore that you simply detest? For me, itโ€™s washing the dishes. I would rather iron every single one of my husbandโ€™s shirts with military precision than do dishes.

  • 1 tbsp. 15ml McCormickยฎ vanilla extract
  • 1 stick butter 113g softened
  • 2 tbsp. 30ml vegetable oil
  • 1 1/4 350ml cups milk
  • 1 c 160g rainbow jimmies
  • 1 tsp. 6g salt
  • 3 1/2 tsp. 17g baking powder
  • 1 1/2 c 300g granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs

Instructions

  • Place softened butter into stand mixer and mix on medium for 1-2 minutes.
  • Add milk, oil, vanilla and eggs and mix on low for one minute.
  • Place dry ingredients into stand mixer and combine on low for 30 seconds.

  1. Beautiful photos and cakes, as usual. I could definitely not tell that was plastic. Planning ahead and tons of lists always helps m, it gives me a little peace of mind during all of the madness! Great idea for the green rosette cake!

  2. I have several shabby chic theme ideas and the inexpensive items to coordinate and they tend to be seasonal and sometimes interchangeable (think stars for Christmas or 4th of July).

  3. Happy Spring Amanda. Everything looks amazing, very colorful, beautiful cakes and looks delicious. Olivia looks so precious and so adorable, God bless her and God bless you all.
    Best wishes xx

  4. I love to have a theme and then utilize things I have around the house to bring it out. Love especially something retro from the 40’s. Great fun!

  5. So many things I love about this. That baby….oh my word…so stinken cute. Those cakes….beautiful.
    No dishes…..what a joy!
    Have a beautiful Wednesday!

  6. Those cakes are gorgeous. Olivia is adorable in that cute dress, and that china is so pretty!

  7. I think what I like best about chinet is that we are moving, don’t want to dirty the house at all. Sturdy to use but can throw away. We use less water, in drought stricken CA and soap and can keep the kitchen clean for the “showing of the house”.

  8. Oh, I am totally with you. I hate doing dishes. Mine are usually loaded with chocolate, which is such a pain to clean up. Whenever I host parties, I always use disposable plates and love the clear plastic plates. They are perfect for any occasion. You cake looks just as pretty on the plastic plate. I think it’s a great option, especially when you need more serving platters than you have on hand.
