Cozy, creamy, and perfectly spiced, this Eggnog Hot Cocoa Mix is the ultimate winter treat. It combines the warmth of classic hot chocolate with the rich, festive flavor of nutmeg-spiked eggnog. You can make it in minutes, store it for easy enjoyment all season, and whip up a mug anytime you want a comforting treat. I think it is perfect for all of your holiday gatherings, from Christmas to New Year’s Eve parties! For an extra-special twist, try it with my homemade eggnog or blender eggnog. Or, make a large batch alongside my big batch hot cocoa mix and other hot cocoa recipes for holiday gifting or a cozy hot chocolate bar.

Ingredients & Substitutions
- Unsweetened Cocoa Powder: The base of this hot cocoa mix. Use Dutch-processed for a smoother, richer flavor.
- Confectionersโ Sugar: Also called powdered sugar, confectioners’ sugar sweetens the mix evenly. You can use superfine sugar if needed, but confectioners’ sugar dissolves most easily.
- Powdered Milk: Adds creamy richness without needing fresh milk. For a dairy-free version, use powdered coconut milk or oat milk powder.
- Espresso Powder: Boosts the chocolate flavor. This is optional if you prefer a milder taste, but taste testers loved it (including me!) with espresso powder added.
- Nutmeg & Cinnamon: Classic eggnog spices. Adjust to taste for a lighter or stronger spice profile.
- Kosher Salt: Enhances the flavors. Donโt skip it!
- To Serve: Eggnog, or half eggnog and half whole milk, for a lighter version. Topped with whipped cream and a sprinkle of nutmeg, this is the ultimate cozy mug.
