It has the same creamy, fluffy, chocolate chip-filled goodness everyone loves, but dressed up with patriotic sprinkles for all your summer celebrations. I love setting this no-bake dessert out alongside my 4th of July Recipes because it takes just minutes to make and is completely addictive! Grab your favorite cookies, crackers, or fresh fruit and watch it disappear before the fireworks even start.

Ingredients & Substitutions

  • Cream Cheese: Make sure the cream cheese is at room temperature before mixing. This helps create a smooth, creamy dip without lumps. Full-fat cream cheese will provide the richest texture, but reduced-fat cream cheese can also be used.
  • Light Brown Sugar: A little brown sugar adds sweetness and a subtle caramel-like flavor. Dark brown sugar can be substituted if that is what you have on hand.
  • Marshmallow Fluff: Marshmallow fluff, also known as marshmallow creme, gives this dip its signature sweet, fluffy texture, and you can make your own! I do not recommend substituting mini marshmallows, as they will not blend smoothly into the dip.
  • Whipped Topping: Folded into the mixture, whipped topping keeps the dip light and airy. If preferred, you can use homemade whipped cream. Just be sure to whip it to stiff peaks before folding it in.
  • Mini Chocolate Chips: Mini chocolate chips distribute more evenly throughout the dip, giving you a little chocolate in every bite. Regular-sized chocolate chips can be used, but the texture will be slightly different.
  • Sprinkles: Red, white, and blue sprinkles make this version a perfect patriotic dessert for Fourth of July parties, cookouts, and summer gatherings. Feel free to swap them for any holiday or seasonal sprinkles to enjoy this dip year-round.

Yes! You can make the dip up to 24 hours in advance and keep it covered in the refrigerator. If making it ahead, I like to wait and add the garnish of sprinkles just before serving for the best presentation.

Yes. Homemade whipped cream works well in this recipe. Whip heavy cream to stiff peaks before gently folding it into the dip. Keep in mind that homemade whipped cream may not hold its texture quite as long as whipped topping.

How to Store Patriotic Booty Dip

Store leftover Booty Dip in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Give it a gentle stir before serving if any separation occurs. I do not recommend freezing this dip. The cream cheese, marshmallow fluff, and whipped topping can change texture after thawing, resulting in a dip that is watery or grainy rather than smooth and fluffy.

For the best texture and flavor, serve the dip chilled and add any extra sprinkles just before serving.
