Do you have that one chore that you simply detest? For me, itโ€™s washing the dishes. I would rather iron every single one of my husbandโ€™s shirts with military precision than do dishes.

Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 c 281g all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp. 15ml McCormickยฎ vanilla extract
  • 1 stick butter 113g softened
  • 2 tbsp. 30ml vegetable oil
  • 1 1/4 350ml cups milk
  • 1 c 160g rainbow jimmies
  • 1 tsp. 6g salt
  • 3 1/2 tsp. 17g baking powder
  • 1 1/2 c 300g granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs

Instructions

  • Place softened butter into stand mixer and mix on medium for 1-2 minutes.
  • Add milk, oil, vanilla and eggs and mix on low for one minute.
  • Place dry ingredients into stand mixer and combine on low for 30 seconds.
  • Remove from mixer and scrape down sides. Finish stirring by hand if not all combined.

  1. I have all white serving pieces. I add the color with the tablecloth, napkins, food and flowers. Your table looks great!

  2. How do I make occasions perfectly coordinated? It varies. Sometimes I like to have everything matched and coordinated down to the color of icing on the cake. Other times, I like to use all the vintage pieces I have to make an eclectic mix but bring it together with a solid tablecloth, napkins, and other accessories of a chosen complementary color. For a dessert or appetizer table, I do like to have dishes presented at varying heights because it just looks more interesting. Vases of flowers, handmade crafts, candles or other special lights, are other ways I enjoy dressing up an event. I really like entertaining!

  3. I would want to wash that plastic stuff to use it again! ๐Ÿ˜›

I have all white dishes so I can use them for any occasion from casual to formal. Why have a set that is almost always packed away? Made no sense to me. ๐Ÿ˜‰

    Love your cakes. ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. okay, okay, okay!! I admit it: I’m totally guilty of at big informal gatherings, using paper plates , plastic cups and plastic silverware! I do coordinate them however, and they’re totally centered around……….. the cake of course! ๐Ÿ˜‰
