Strawberry Heaven Dessert is a layered dessert made with cubes of angel food cake topped with strawberry pie filling, vanilla pudding, and whipped cream. This no-bake dessert, also known as heaven on Earth cake is as easy to put together as it is to enjoy! Seriously, if you need a dessert that everyone will love, this is perfect. Once you see how easy it is to make this light and fluffy dessert, you will want to try my Cherry Vanilla Heaven Dessert, too!
Ingredients & Substitutions
Angel Food Cake: To make this recipe super easy, buy an angel food cake at the store. The most time-consuming part is probably cutting the cake into cubes! Of course, you could also make a homemade angel food cake if preferred. If using a homemade cake, be sure to let it cool completely before cutting it. A pound cake or sponge cake would also work in this dessert.
Pudding Layer: The pudding layer is a mixture of instant vanilla pudding mix, milk, and heavy whipping cream. I prefer whole milk for a richer and creamier consistency.
Pie Filling: Since this is a strawberry dessert, I used strawberry pie filling! But, you could certainly try this dessert with other pie filling like cherry pie filling, blueberry pie filling, or your favorite flavor!
Whipped Topping: Either store-bought whipped toppings like Cool Whip or homemade whipped cream work well for this recipe.
How To Serve Strawberry Heaven Dessert
This light and fluffy dessert is easy to scoop right out of the dish and onto a plate to enjoy! Or, try serving it in some creative ways like the following:
- Make mini trifles in small dessert cups for individual servings.
- Show off the layers of the dessert by serving it in mason jars.
- Serve the dessert with chocolate syrup for drizzling! This would be a neat idea for Valentine’s Day.
- Offer vanilla ice cream or extra whipped cream for those who want an even sweeter dessert!
Can I Make Heaven Dessert Ahead Of Time?
Yes! Since this dessert does need to be chilled for a minimum of four hours, up to overnight, it’s the perfect dessert to get made a day in advance. Once assembled, simply chill the dessert in the refrigerator. Chilling the dessert helps firm up the layers as well as meld all of the flavors together.
How To Store Strawberry Heaven Dessert
Store Strawberry Heaven Dessert in the refrigerator, covered, for 1-2 days. I do not recommend freezing this dessert.

Oh, my…this dessert is just perfect! I love angel food cake topped with strawberries, so the added layers of vanilla pudding and whipped cream is simply heavenly…pun intended.

Beautiful and easy dessert! This comes together so fast and looks like it took a lot of time to make. You can't go wrong with vanilla pudding, angel food cake, strawberries, and whipped cream.
Bella

What a simple dessert! Great for weeknights after dinner, or as a little treat whenever you'd like!
Could you make this in a trifle dish? I think it would be really pretty to see the layers.
Amanda,
i love your recipes. They are my favorites tp take to Church Luncheons and each one is a hit. Thank you to much for sharing with us. Nancy Rose, Erie, PA
Getting ready to make this but your picture doesnโt appear that it has two layers of cake and two layers of strawberries, so I was kind of
Super easy to make . Great for a small or large group. I made this for a senior luncheon that our church does every week. It went before any of the other desserts. Making it for Easter.
Can I use another type of cake? Not sponge cake
Sure
Oh WOW!!! Looks wonderful! I think that I could eat at least half of it right now! Just makes me slobber!
Could you use pound cake instead
Sure
I’ve made a similar dessert as one large trIffle. I used a mixture of fresh & frozen raspberries layered with the same pudding/whipped cream mixture. When I make it again, I’ll add a layer of strawberry pie filling, as well. The strawberries would add enough sweetness to match the tartness of the other berries. I serve it in a large GLASS pedestal bowl so all the layers show.
I am definitely going to make it๐โค๏ธ
I made this, but used a store bought pound cake. I didn’t feel like heating up the house. Very easy to make and it was SO yummy! Great cool dessert for a hot day. Light and refreshing. Recieved lots of compliments too! I will be making this again very soon.
