I recently started the Paleo Diet.
As someone who has a full fledged addiction to carbs, dairy and sugar, this has been a challenge to say the least.
Having a smoothie for breakfast has been the norm lately, but I really found myself missing the milk or cream I would add to make it silky and smooth.
So this morning I just happened to spot an aging avocado on my counter and thought… why not? Of course, once I finished my smoothie and google “blueberry avocado smoothie” I realized I was the last person in the world to figure this out.
Whoops, my bad. (Say that in your best “Clueless” voice)
But, after some further inspection, I think the jumbled mass of ingredients I assembled is in fact not something I have seen on the internet before.

This smoothie achieved everything I had hoped it would. A thick yet smooth consistency, an abundance of healthy ingredients, and a satisfying great flavor.

Avocado Blueberry Smoothie Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 cup frozen blueberries
- ยฝ medium avocado
- ยผ cup kale
- 2 ripe bananas
- ยฝ cup freshly squeezed orange juice
- 2 -3 cups water
Instructions
- Place all ingredients in blender or juicer and mix for 30 seconds-1 minute. (I have a blender so I needed to mix a bit longer.)
- Serve immediately.

I’ve been interested in trying the Paleo diet! I think I could definitely handle it with smoothies like these!
I am only on day 6… so have not really SEEN any results… but I can testify that the swelling I was experiencing from my pregnancy has dramatically reduced! ๐

Sometimes the best recipes are the accidentally created ones! I have two friends on the paleo diet, so I may succumb to peer pressure … but the good kind, especially with smoothies like these. I always feel tired at around 10 or 11, and I think it’s because I always have toast or a bagel for breakfast.
